Got some USED TIMERS in the mail. The contact rings look serviceable. I might get some rollers and test them out.

Second timer on the right I attempted to polish. Both looked like the last picture when I started

That is excellent. Get all the good out of them. Check the rollers and pins. They are the next to wear out. I wore out 3 rollers in one timer on a tour due to worn out pins.

Too many good timers have been discarded. Some only need better insulation around the terminals.
I'd love to find some of those reasonably for sale.

The needle on the ammeter on my '27 moves to the charge side when the lights are turned on and the engine is off so I reversed the wires but when I reversed the wires the lights don't go on and the needle doesn't move. I put the wires back the way they were and the lights work again and the ammeter still shows positive when the lights are on and...

Pressured washed the frame got 99&44/100% of the red clay off
as far as I can tell this is a piece of copper tubing used as a shim for worn brake pivots.

I sort of collect lamps and was looking on Tbay & saw these. I realize they are reproduction & the flair on the side lamps are not correct for an 09 but they are beautiful. The taillight though did catch my attention, I’ve never seen an original 3 tiered taillight correctly sized as the sidelights. Did originals exist? Best John

My Touring 1926 made in Canada has two green buttons on the front. I have already seen this on other Model T pictures. What are these good for?

I've looked for quite a while for a correct screw driver for my TT. I found one today at a steam and gas engine show for $8.00.

Is there any record of years when this was provided in the tool kit?

After looking at pictures of other original screw drivers, I believe that the flutes in the handle were fairly shallow when new. The drawing above makes them look very deep and defined but I don't believe that they were so pronounced.

In trying to start my 26 Tourer with 23 engine I rebuilt the Holley NH and used the viton tipped needle/float valve that was supplied with the rebuild kit. It wouldn't start no matter what. Ran down the battery. Finally today took the carb off and saw that the new (viton tipped) needle was stuck. I had the same issue with another Holley NH...

No need to apologize. I really didn't know how much to take out The bore was so crudy that a .100 inch bit would barely fit through. I merely opened it until the bore looked clean, which was .150 inch.

I am just lucky that the needle hasn't become stuck. I am going to change the seat before any problems occur.. 650 miles on it and my luck...

If you can find a copy, get the book Pate's Early Ford Encyclopedia , it is full of information on early Fords. Be sure the copy you get still has the CD in the pocket on the back cover with lots of extra information not in the print book. :)

Note the flange around the hole at the choke end of the carburetor. Some have that and some don't. I prefer it as it's helpful in mounting an air filter.

I have noticed an odd situation with rear spring for my 1927 coupe. The end of second leaf on the right side is not in contact with the bottom leaf. The attached photo show the situation.

While not shown in the photos, there is a slight wear pattern on top of the bottom spring below the end of the second leaf.

Is this problem??

Very good looking springs. While the springs are on the paper, go ahead and outline them so once you re-arch the leafs, you can see if there is a difference in the arc of the springs. I have new bumpers for the doors. My problem is how to remove and replace them. They appear to be riveted in place.

Are there any tappets available with an oversized foot (larger diameter) that will fit into a T block? Recall A friend tried A tappets, but i recall a lot of machine work in a space with not a lot of metal and never went any further. Thanks!

The 292/Y block tappet foot is 1 diameter- pretty much the same as the aftermarket T adjustable tappets. Your cam guy should be able to find a profile that will work with the 1 follower diameter. John is correct, Bill Stipe dis make some large diameter tappets doe use...

I see this model t chapter on the MTFCA list located in Maryland but can’t seem to get ahold of anyone involved in it. I don’t know if anyone here knows if it’s still up and running. They had a website before but I can’t seem to find that either. It’s the only chapter reasonably close to me so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My drill press quit, so I decided it was time to replace the 50+ year old wiring. My press had a reverse switch added in the 60’s and the insulation on the wiring was old, cracked. It also had a toggle switch that was like a happy dogs tail, loose and floppy.
So I went on the chase to fix and replace old wiring.
What a rabbit hole I have dove...

I replaced the wiring on my Made in China drill press about 5 years ago. What a mess ! The wiring in the head was all single strand, very small gauge,and some of it had no insulation at all. I got these in a lot. I was told from the person I got these from they were on his 1913 that he had sold many years ago. But have no clue which body maker they fit. The curtains are very flexible including the isinglass. Has what looks like road tar splash in places not sure. Isinglass has not yellowed. Dealers get big bucks for these and you...

Here is a set of two accessory 9 volt battery powered LED sidelights or tail light adapters. They have spring clamps that slip over the lamp burners in the sidelights or tail lights. It looks like they lost part of the load before the wreck. Bales may have been stacked high with a lot of overhang on the sides, and if the load got loose on one side, it could have severely unbalanced the truck.
