Allan, That was what I was thinking too as far as wear, but wouldnt that essentially elongate the shoe? It may require the brake lever to be pushed further forward, bending the brake rods.

Has the outside surface of the drums been machined? If not, they are likely for a different purpose. As mentioned, T wire wheels need to be supported on the inside edge. Even with this, they were still prone to flexing and cracking between the stud holes. This was cured in the A model wheels by pressing a ridge between the stud holes to stiffen up...

Carson, it wasn't that the battery/generator system was unreliable but cost in giving the customer the option of the cheapest T, batteries were not cheap for some reason back then, example in 1922 a battery in Fords parts books cost $25.oo and a magneto assembly only $6.oo so a battery, starter and generator added a huge price increase on the base...

Allan, I got the reply. It’s a ‘M’ code needle with an 8oz Yellow code spring. The carb is a 1 1/8 throat bronze SU from a 1926 Morris Bullnose/Cowley. Hope it works out well for you.

Someone also suggested the white plastic wall panels like in restrooms that will just glue or tack up in place and provide a nice, clean, bright, and washable surface. Its a little tight in there on either side with the ambulance loaded and having a surface to slide against kinda appeals to me.

FYI:: If you go back with Ford style valves be sure to use Ford keeper washers. Check out this old thread.

Not sure if this has been fixed. I only use Ford 351 exhaust valves and keepers.

The larger than stock Langs screw heads could be easily made smaller turning in a hand drill against a bench grinder.
Not at all necessary for these hidden screws unless you are an uber originalist. The larger heads make the install a bit easier.

I am running a little behind. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Rich. He was one of a kind. I talked to him several times about his paintings which added so much to my love of the Model T Ford. My prayers are with his family. His work brought much joy to my life.
