Just converted my fathers 1927 model t to wire wheels. Now I need to get rid of the wooden wheels. These are in great shape. Comes with the tires, stem hardware, spare tire and 2 spare tire mounts.

The spare does have one of the installation cleats broken. Not sure on the price. How about $2,000 for the 5 wheels, vale stems/nuts and two tire...

Hey all,

I have converted my 1927 Model T from a turtle deck to a pickup. That means I have a turtle deck I don't need.

It is in great shape. Comes with the floor as well as a spare hood and of course, keys. Not sure on the pricing. Was thinking around $700 for all. Make an offer.

I have not seen a fitting like this. Is there an advantage to these over standard Zerk fittings? Does anyone know if a standard Zerk fitting could replace this? I’d like to not have to buy an adapter for my grease gun.

Well, after 8 years of an amateur restoration it was time to start the car. It started easily and ran well, however, I didn't seem to have a neutral. One rear wheel was jacked up and was spinning very fast. Car ran for about 5 minutes than was shut off, to look into transmission adjustments. I didn't get around to it till a couple of days later....

Greetings all -

Today I'm struggling with the radiator mounts. I'm trying to find some cross section diagram or photos of how the radiator stud mount, springs, cups, radiator shell, hood shelf wood blocks, hood shelf and fenders all stack together in a 1922 (this one is a Touring) Any and all help is greatly appreciated

1924 roadster purchased new in Seguin, Texas and passed down through the family. Roger Spillers purchased the car from his uncle as a teenager in 1948 and drove the car on a regular basis. He passed away in 2022.

Thirteen and fourteen are the same car and same dog. Different day, because of the amount of snow and tire tread shows on one picture but snow and mud on the other also the radiator cover has been removed on the second picture but both have the same license plate.

As a result of Craig's recent thread ( ) we measured the secondary resistance of 25 'standard' coils today. There were more coils, but they appeared to have open-circuit windings (note that doesn't necessarily mean they won't produce a spark!).

The results are shown below. I have not attempted any sort of analysis, the data is simply presented...

Those data are not unlike what I have experienced when I was rebuilding coils. One could make an assumption that the process was very much not in control, or one could make an assumption that there is a natural range of variability with some shorted windings thrown in, or a 3rd option where there are at least 2 different winding...

A friend called and said he got a set of tires with some stuff and wanted to know what they fit. I went over to have a look. I came home with a new set of Goodyear tires for my RPU which I needed.
They say made in Canada on them. No dryrot, or cracks. Rubber is soft and plyable as new tires should be. Very happy to spend his $150 asking price for...

I eventually want to swap in the rebuilt front spring I have. My 26 Touring has Hasslers on it. My question is the Hassler springs look to be worn out. Do you think they are or is it just that the front spring itself is so worn that it is collapsing the Hassler springs down?

This is a nice solid set of wire wheels with Coker white wall tires. 30 x 3-1/2 Tires have never been run. No bent, loose, or missing spokes. There is some pitting on the rims and some flaking paint. Overall a nice set of buffalo wire wheels.

I think I am done with brass grease cups. I will use steel now. The grease gun would not come off the zerk fitting inside the cup and I ended up breaking off the upper portion of the cup (drive shaft bushing)'
What is the easiest way to get the remainder of the cup out of the torque tube? With an easy out? This is the small grease cup. Thank you.

Checking a 17 engine and I found wear in the piston arm babbitts at the edges. Enough that I think I should replace them. The three pictures are the crank under those arms. You will see some wear.

My question is: I want to buy piston arms that are already babbited from a shop and install those and new pistons/rings and go on my merry way....

Sounds like Pat may have an opinion on rats. They get into places you’d never believe and the mess is disgusting. There’s always little dead rats in the nest too. Not a pleasant memory.

That’s an excellent example of a hard to find crack, Mark. If available, wet magnaflux is definitely the way to go. Cheap insurance.

I bought this Bolens 1050 at a local salvage yard for 75 bucks. Engine had a stuck exhaust valve. I installed a 3ft boxblade on the brinley hitch and i have been using it for the past month to keep things leveled up on the driveway.
Needs the chargeing system fixed, and a muffler.I had to take the raggedy exhaust pipe off to get to the valve stem...

Wanted: Budd T Ford left and right rear hubs in usable or restorable condition, the hub caps are not needed but will purchase for spares. The outer end of the hub which is threaded inside is 1-23/32 or 1.718 on the outside diameter
and 1.275 or 7mm on the inside diameter. The OD of the hub cap threads is 1-11/32 or 1.344.

I used a string to measure the distance around the fan hub (ball bearing hub) and crankshaft pulley (original pulley). It measured 32 inches, so I ordered the 32 inch endless belt,1926-27 show in the supplier's catalog. I could not get it on, so I ordered the 33 1/8 belt. It touches the New Day Timer, so it is too long.

How do I solve this...

Hi Joshua,
A Muncie should have a reverse. The bearings & bushings are available for them. Aftermarket wire wheels you need to look close at the spoke
ends & nipples for rust & cracks. Some period lowering is sketchy. If it wasn't all the way across the country it would have my intrest peeked.

I suspect that there is a recommended current (amperage) per square inch of plating surface. I am not familiar with Nickle plating, but I am familiar with Chrome plating.

Set is 1 Upper Taper reamer for the cone shaped inserts.
And 1 Lower Reamer/Tap for the threaded insert.

A discussion came up at a Model T Tech Talk at the Piquette Plant. One guy stated the screws were 1/4-24, while another suggested they are 10-27. I'm leaning towards 10-27. We all know they're special of course. Anybody know for sure the size?

In Central Pennsylvania in 1921 a new Ford dealership does well for the opening of a new dealership and show room. The success of selling of 100 cars with in 6 months of opening. May be the marketing and price drop may be a factor?

So I've watched the videos and see that a large set of Channel Locks will work for the task. What I haven's seen is the actual crimping done. Looking at the channel I can see where one side has a sharp edge and the other is rounded. I know the welt cord runs along the inner part of the channel, compressing the springs, etc. Here is my question:...

I had my engine rebuilt and after machineing my head bolts are a 16 th to long . Im going to 2 1/2 bolts. Do they need to be grade 5 or 8

I've placed the side mirror on the upper door hinge and was wondering what other people do? Do you place it at the upper hinge or the center hinge? What is your reason for your choice? Thanks,

Nice 1926-27 Model T Box, easily converted to a Model A Box if needed. No dents, not banged up! Needs some (very) minor finishing body work to make very nice. Tailgate also needs very minor finish body work. $700, must pick up (no pun intended!)
