Pressured washed the frame got 99&44/100% of the red clay off
as far as I can tell this is a piece of copper tubing used as a shim for worn brake pivots.

The fuel bulb (Potato) fuel shut off handle wouldn't budge so I let it soak for 48 hours in lacquer thinner and tranny fluid. shut off handle still wouldn't budge so I removed the cotter pin, spring and washers gave it several taps with a very small hammer and it came out along with a lot of gunk. took the fuel screen out this is what it looks...

This is a very cool truck
has the cool type of hoist for the dump. the family owned it since 1969 and was a driver, parades, trips to town and fairs, the owner parked it in 2000 when his wife became ill, then he became ill and it sat. the family sold me this plus another chassis from the estate, clear title with truck

Just got a load of good used T parts and found this hub
similar to a T but larger bearing and straight shank has ball bearings on the inner but taper race on outside
measures 2 5/16 across outer and 3 3/8 at inner, about the same overall diameter on flange

One common problem we found were rear axles that needed replacement - most damaged by the axle nut not being tight enough. Cracks radiating from the key slot, worn slots, corrosion / damage on the taper, etc., were the most...

I analyzed clamp load, stress, and torque associated with the rear axle nut using arithmetic and a slide rule My conclusion is that 140 ft lb torque is a safe level. This assumes the axle and nut threads and nut face are clean and dry. Lubrication greatly adds to the clamp load and consequently the stress at the axle thread.

The needle on the ammeter on my '27 moves to the charge side when the lights are turned on and the engine is off so I reversed the wires but when I reversed the wires the lights don't go on and the needle doesn't move. I sort of collect lamps and was looking on Tbay & saw these. I realize they are reproduction & the flair on the side lamps are not correct for an 09 but they are beautiful. The taillight though did catch my attention, I’ve never seen an original 3 tiered taillight correctly sized as the sidelights. Did originals exist? Best John

Kim I absolutely love the patent pending E&J’s the solid jewel with no facets are wonderful. My left and right sidelights have different colored non faceted, blue & red jewels respectively. Peter can you tell if it’s an original or something else. It really looks good.

PXL_20220708_161213691~2.jpg I have for sale 4 nice wire wheels and hubs. I will strip them from this chassis, or sell the complete rolling chassis minus the body. Engine is unknown but turns over freely. Nothing feels stuck. Engine has a distributor setup on it.

In trying to start my 26 Tourer with 23 engine I rebuilt the Holley NH and used the viton tipped needle/float valve that was supplied with the rebuild kit. It wouldn't start no matter what. Ran down the battery. Finally today took the carb off and saw that the new (viton tipped) needle was stuck. I had the same issue with another Holley NH...

No need to apologize. I really didn't know how much to take out The bore was so crudy that a .100 inch bit would barely fit through. I merely opened it until the bore looked clean, which was .150 inch.

I am just lucky that the needle hasn't become stuck. I am going to change the seat before any problems occur.. 650 miles on it and my luck...

I have noticed an odd situation with rear spring for my 1927 coupe. The end of second leaf on the right side is not in contact with the bottom leaf. The attached photo show the situation.

While not shown in the photos, there is a slight wear pattern on top of the bottom spring below the end of the second leaf.

Is this problem??

Free: approx 4 lbs (roughly 250 - 300 pcs.) Truss head (or mushroom head or brazier head) rivets, with a 3/16 x 1 1/4 shank, made of what I'm pretty sure is mild steel. Some surface rust is present but they should clean up pretty easily. I believe these would be well-suited for riveting wood slats to a steel frame, as you would on a pickup bed or...

Speaking of which (20s crime) 0ne of the buses in the park was running poorly during prohibition. The gas filler opening in the gas tank was about 4 1/2 diameter. It was discovered that whiskey bottle labels had had come off bottles stowed there and covered the outlet restricting flow.

1) I want to replace the rubber bumpers for my truck lid. I assume the way to remove the existing bumper is to drill it out.

Are there any tappets available with an oversized foot (larger diameter) that will fit into a T block? Recall A friend tried A tappets, but i recall a lot of machine work in a space with not a lot of metal and never went any further. Thanks!

The 292/Y block tappet foot is 1 diameter- pretty much the same as the aftermarket T adjustable tappets. Your cam guy should be able to find a profile that will work with the 1 follower diameter. John is correct, Bill Stipe dis make some large diameter tappets doe use...

I see this model t chapter on the MTFCA list located in Maryland but can’t seem to get ahold of anyone involved in it. I don’t know if anyone here knows if it’s still up and running. They had a website before but I can’t seem to find that either. It’s the only chapter reasonably close to me so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My drill press quit, so I decided it was time to replace the 50+ year old wiring. My press had a reverse switch added in the 60’s and the insulation on the wiring was old, cracked. It also had a toggle switch that was like a happy dogs tail, loose and floppy.
So I went on the chase to fix and replace old wiring.
What a rabbit hole I have dove...
