If any coil is left buzzing continually for a long time on battery you have six volts feeding a 1/3 ohm coil primary winding and there is 20 amps current flowing and the coil gets very hot fast. If you use a 12 volt battery in your Model T that is 40 amps I.E that would be very very fast.

I have found that the problem is, when I go to the very edge of my knowledge,
peering off to the horizon with even the strongest binoculars, knowing everything
is still far beyond me ever seeing it. :lol:

There are some wheels that can be run reliably in original condition... if all the spokes are still tight and there is not too much rust in the rims, wheels can be cleaned up and painted, and perform reliably for many years.

The big unknown is how much rust is between the spoke nipples and the rim dimples. This rust can build up and make the...

Larry there were two thicknesses of the red fiber I had. The stuff I had saved for myself I gave away for the most part when I unloaded my early Ford stuff. I measured the pieces I still have and they are .060 and 1.10 inches thick respectively.

Did 2 such conversions. Noticed a single filiment bulb was extremely bright at speed. Used a double contact (lighting both) bulb. The 2nd one i worked on had a 6v single contact. It wasnt in service long. was burned out. Replace with a double contact 12v. 1157?

The band ear goes to driver side of hogs head. Button type ear fits better on earlier hogs heads. With a late cover, it does not matter.

Caution on some of the reproduction slant top lids that have the sides and internal shelf spot welded which caused t he sides to warp. The shelf on the underside of the lid is what keeps the coils in place.

Danny, Since you don't have to adjust idle after you get it dialed in you could simply attach a wire or other method to prevent it from rotating until you find one of the barrel retainers. I didn't realize those round barrel types are so fragil.

I have plenty other things to do until parts get here. But not long and she will be on the road!

This is me, circa 1954. I am the 5th owner of the pedal car, same extended family since new - which was about the mid-30's. So it had been literally, and figuratively, been through the war .

Doesn't address a 1921 Touring specifically, but these may be somewhat helpful:

Regarding keeping the backrest spring pack in position, it is suspended by straps that are tacked either to the wood support slats (for cars that have them), or from the upper tack rail (for cars where the spring pack sits directly on the metal seat back).

If someone buys this seat, I have the folding support post for the rear of it. Now all you need to find is the front hinged brackets.I'm open to reasonable offers. Part # T8822 and appears to be T9668B, it's hard to make out.

Warren. You might try finding a backhaul trucker in need of a load So he doesn't deadhead back to His home base.
One of the best places to look for backhaul loads is on load boards, such as 123loadboard.

I would recommend you get the stainless steel ones that the vendors sell. Then when you instal them chuck them up in a drill and spin them into place.

Jeff, Glad you were able to get the Vets Stadium scheduled for the LB Club swap meet. The date just might be perfect for some Out of Towners to get down this way after the National Tour! Since they're out here on the Left Coast it's an lovely drive this way on their way back home.

Dave, we have butchered many years and there are some parts of the hogs people would not believe you can eat and some of it is the first to go on butchering day with the hot fires cooking.

These valves are the bomb. Did I say it right? Trying to get with this new generation talk. Not working for me, the new talk. The valves work GREAT!!! Fixes a problem that needed to be addressed. If you are working on a NH you need one of these. Install tool is a must two.

The Tucker was mentioned above. It may have been the original intention, but none of the 50 or so production cars had them made that way. I think I read where a later restoration made one move. Fuzzy though on this.

By the way, thanks for the link. Wish I knew parts were available. Would have bought the gaskets as that was a little work. I bought some FelPro gasket material which is fairly thick but worked fine. Used a leather punch for the bolt holes.

14 and 15 radiators will interchange, but are not the same as Keith pointed out. A 15 radiator uses a radiator round tube bent to a slight V for the head light wire.
