Fans with cracks or loose rivets are an extreme health hazard. They can be hard on hoods and radiators, too. A fan that is bent or out of balance can be very hard on the bearing, besides wasting power.

Use any solvent for oil-based residue in an axle tube or d.s. tube (kerosene, paint thinner, Stoddard solvent, etc.). Put a couple of gallons in a pail. Attach a toilet brush to a long handle. Scrub out the gunk.

If you're successful, please post your result, would love to see it. Maybe something you could reproduce & sell.

No welder? Use rotary carbide rasp to cut into the race, tap with hammer to loosen race. If no success use a bigger hammer.

Good news, I picked up a hood and stainless steel tank from a fellow in Vermont. The hood will require a bit of tin knocking to fit, and one minor hinge weld, but should prove satisfactory.

This is 2025! A very poor way to auction some very rare parts. There should be internet bidding with very clear pictures of each lot. Aumann would have done a much better job for the seller. I won’t be driving up north in late November

I found out the problem wasn't my latch, after all. The problem was a rusted, broken spring inside the outside door handle escutcheon. Lucky, I had an extra outside door handle with no plating and was basically, junk. I removed the spring from it and now all I have to do is reassemble on my good plated handle's shaft and crimp the retainer in...

If these fail, the lens does not bounce well off the pavement, I have had it happen.

While the rear cap is self-evident, the center cap is just a bit wider than the front. The front pretty much covers the saddle; the center one does not fully cover the saddle. As said, the rear cap carries the full thrust by itself no thrust is poured in the block, some do add it there too but the block has to be cut back to add.

i have poured several hundred ball caps ( 4th main) ... i have noticed 4 common variations ... no oil hole , 1 oil hole ( some of which had Ford embossed on spherical section ) , 2 oil holes and 4 oil holes ... the only ones with Ford embossed were the 1 oil hole ... possibly genuine Ford replacements for dealer use?gene french

The V bends are made using heat. It's a very poor practice for several reasons. As previously mentioned, if the bend involves 2 or more leaves, it will jam the leaves and prevent them sliding on one another, which they must do for the spring to flex. Another issue is the right angle or near right angle bend in the leaf or leaves. You will NEVER...

You have a sample to copy so take a newer version one and make one.
Cut out a metal disk and weld it on, shape to fit.
Make sure to add material below the headlight socket to make it earlier if necessary.

While you are doing it take pictures and post it.
Don't be like me and just build it without documenting it.

Once I got the hood former and firewall out of my 1915 touring, I had enough room to get a drill in vertically to drill out the two back holes on the block. I made a 1 1/2 thick guide block out of hardwood scraps (old hardwood flooring) and used it to keep the drill...
