I have no experience specifically with the Model S, but a low float level could contribute to hard starting. It may be that the Model S requires opening the main jet adjustment more than the later models do to get a rich enough starting mixture. A choke that does not fully close can cause starting issues with any carb.

I dont think so? They would drastically cut down on dust and ambient moisture getting on the reflectors and into the lights for sure. Mainly the idea being is to keep dust dirt finger prints of the outside of the lights. Thus making cleaning easier when you take the covers off...

Not only in California, there are a lot of made up 1915 Fords. The quality of their assembly ranges from laughable to excellent. The best are undetectable, down to the nuts and bolts.

In the trade they are called K-liners. The old guide is reamed, the liner fitted and expanded/ reamed to suit. It is a job for a machine shop, to make certain the guides remain accurately aligned to the valve seats. Being and OHV head makes it easy for modern machine shops to handle.

It does cover the timing gear somewhat, but it is actually the mounting for the generator for motors with electric starter and generator.

It is an early tie rod with the integral ball for the drag link. Later tie rods have threaded on ends held in place with a bolt-on drag link ball.

Ford may have used true babbit for thrust washers at some point. But they used the pot metal too. Babbit is a family of alloys. Pot metal, likewise. Pot metal is generally less malleable than true babbit.

Has anyone ever compiled a list of all the tool ford had ? Is there a listing some where? I've been collecting the 5z tools and there's more that pictured in the parts manual. Just wonder if any out there has an idea

In Alabama we have never had a “Pink Slip” for any ModelT. For that matter no kind of Slip for anything till 1975.
