My 14 Runabout has a taillamp bracket with vertical mounting holes but the vendors show them with horizontal holes. Which is correct? Thanks, Art

Couldn't locate anything using the forum search for my concerns...
Was looking for some pictures (and guidance) of other's T's showing valves properly seated and without head installed.

On the last start up, I noticed coolant bubbling out from the rear head and knew I needed to replace the head gasket.
Today I got the head removed, spent an hour...

Got into the valve plate yesterday evening to check things out..... very glad I did.

I noticed was the failing/deteriorating cork gasket. There was small pieces all over the place, so would have been a matter of time before that clogged up an oil port and starved the lower end.

Hello, I’m looking for some help figuring out a word on the Schug logo. I am in the process of restoring this so I can make some water decals.

I can read the center and right column but having a hard time figuring out the left column.

The top line is “Spark Coils”

Hello everyone!

I had a starter retrofitted to my 2017 Touring by Duncan and Fraser/Bob Chantrell in Adelaide (12-volt system). It's a bit too stiff. Can I make the starter a little softer by reducing the voltage? If so, how can I reduce the voltage – just for the starter?

Some 12 volt bulbs work fine on 6 volts and some do not.
It is always safe to operate a bulb at lower than rated voltage but the light output is not guaranteed.
There are many bulbs out there that will work fine on a wide range of voltages.
Sometimes they tell you, sometimes they do not.

Since Minter Field is a live airfield, there is no overnight camping allowed where the spaces are setup which is along the runways and tarmac area. Small planes use this airfield 24 hours a day.

Overnight camping is allowed in a large designated parking area just outside of the front gate. This will be allowed Thursday and Friday night.

Allan and Mark. Thanks for responding. Allan, I tried earlier cutting down a 09-25 Watts disk.to the hex shape required for a 26-27 brake drum and the slots for the lugs didn't line up. That surprised ne because the disk fit nicely inside a pre 26 brake shoe.

I have a 22 T with a 26/27 Engine & Transmission. Has Ruckstell & large drum RMB installed. Engine starts right up and is strong, but The car has always struggled to move. Low & reverse needed high rpm and often will stall, especially in reverse.

Was this a scrap drive or just a wrecking yard over run with T’s getting ready for the scrapper. I think I’ve seen this before but can’t remember where. I’m thinking it’s in the early 40’s or before. Looks like it was few other makes too but not many.

For those who don’t know, I am currently employed at a hot rod shop at the age of 17. I do a lot of different varieties of cars from muscle cars to luxury European to full on custom street rods. Looks like a Rootlieb kit to me. Speedsters are worth 7-12K for the most part. Use that as a start to determine value.

On this one, wheels add to value, as does the Ruckstel. Looks like a real nice paint job. Cannot see much else.

Here are some Old School style rope type main seals that work good on T engines. One will do a T engine. These are about 6.5” long and 1/2” square. Fits the front seal just right. This Heinze coil box came in for lid repair. There was a chunk of wood missing on one side. I also noticed one of the contact springs was loose, then broke off.

During the spring replacement I noticed a lot of corrosion around split rivets that hold the springs (see photo) and wire that carries power to the coils. Measuring the resistance on each...

This wheel/star with 6 holes is attached to the original choke arm where the wire goes. What is its purpose? It doesn’t spin, it has raised areas that lock it in place.

In the pre-war section, are the spots large enough to set up display and park your truck. I won’t have a trailer but will have few things that are heavy and would like to display off the back of truck.

I just saw a 26-27 T roadster pickup for sale in Longview, Texas by a salvage yard on Facebook marketplace. Price $2500.00. Ad states no title, no motor or transmission, and I do not see top irons or bows. Picture is not a close up, but it doesn't look like a rust bucket and fenders don't look all bent up.

For sale: I have 2 fatman steering wheels. 1st one is a Bauer and the 2nd one is a Spencer. Wood is very good condition. Have not done any cleaning or polishing so you can make it what you want. Have a key for the Spencer. They are $500 each plus postage.

My 27 touring has a crack / bend in the the lower section of the the front bow. Wondering is I should attempt to repair on the car?
I have a lathe so I could cut it off at the break and make a dowel to fit inside, then braze up the joint.
Anybody tried this repair?

If you have access to someone with a TIG welding machine that can be repaired on the car. If you were close I would do it for you. I have a Miller Sychro-Wave SD welder. TIG welding does not produce any spatter, so no worries to surrounding area. That's not a difficult repair in the right hands.

What a great car. Wish I had an extra $23.5K laying around. While the top boot may be repro, at least IT is CORRECT in that it has what I refer to as the infamous flaps on either side. So many repro's do not, I even paid the extra $125 to Classtique to have it put on my '13's top boot. Labor intensive I guess! But it looks great and is correct....

I have 4 headlamp sockets for 1915 or 1916 Model T’s. These differ from the later ones in that the pins are 90 degrees off. This was done to align the filament horizontally to allow the headlamp to be focused. Note the later socket in the middle of the picture. After reading all the responses and thinking back at what I had done, I went out to my shop and carefully unbolted the shifter and pulled it out slowly while trying to see where the fork was in relation to the collar groove. Sure enough! The fork was on the right side of the collar groove. No wonder I only had one gear. Works now...
