Jonah, Good to see your T coming along. If you are painting it yourself, a Harbor Freight HVLP is good. The 2 gun one with case is a good deal as it has the take apart tools and brush to clean it. PPG 'Shopline' is also a good inexpensive but professional quality paint. Good luck and let me know how it goes. -- IV

You can back out the jet and inspect it but if the collar won't tighten that's the problem. It's threaded into the brass main body but I've seen a few sheared off at the base probably from someone trying to over tighten it. Most Stromberg collars are the same so you might have to dig out the broken threaded section and replace the whole collar...

Yes, that is the very same site where the meet was held 20 years ago. The stadium is just as you remember it. Nothing has changed. The meet has moved locations a couple of times since then, but through the perseverance of Long Beach club members like Jeff Hood, Tom LeRoux, and others, the Long Beach meet is back in......LONG BEACH!

Before you get started be sure an authenticate some of the versions that currently exist. There are many differences in the old photos of the original and the museum pieces. Seats, side lights, headlights, exhaust etc. Also there are pictures of #1 that could help as well

What makes you think the motor was running when removed from a car? If you can get it running on a test stand, run it without smoking, and has good compression, I may be interested. Frank

Bryan. Question #1 is NO. You can replace the bulb with a resistor of the proper size and wattage but not a led. I understand that but the burr needs to knocked down also or it doesn’t have a flat surface for the edge of the small collar on the screw to seat against and seal. I deburred the threaded hole surface and snugged it down and all is fine. The burr was keeping it from seating 100%.

Looks like the castings may have never been buffed and polished except for the face. Take them off the car and give them a good buff and polish job. They may need more than just Rouge and a polish though. Some emery and a sewn wheel might be in order 1st.

Hi Terry : I have a Canadian '26 Coupe that has never been messed with .It was painted as a used car in 1965 without even removing the rear fenders. It still has the engine pans held on with square nuts and Made in Canada markings everywhere. If I can be of any help, don't hesitate. Cheers : Bruce

The MTFCA is hosting its annual swap meet at the Model T museum in Richmond Indiana during Homecoming on June 19. This is for prewar items. Call our office to get a spot reserved. Admission to the museum is free that day and there are free tours on Thursday and Friday. Come join in the fun.

So I called Steve at Lang's (he is always helpful). He said I had the correct size key. He also suggested that I tap the key into the pinion slot. When i tried it before I was just pressing it in with my fingers. I also think you are correct when you say nothing fits perfect. Ha! I should know better (new pinion shaft, New key, and old spider)....

I don’t have a thread gauge that big. The opening is just short of 1 1/4. The tubes are 1 1/8 diameter. The longest is about 13 inches the shortest about 6 3/4 inches.

In and hooked up! On the dash, I remember reading about a padding that went between the column and the lower bracket. Does anyone use it? I still have the original padding between the dash and the column.
