In my opinion, you kind of needed to buy both packages but $37k put it out of the realm of reason when you consider what you “might” find in the end. I am aware of two other early open valve T projects that are much more complete, correct, and sorted out at a price substantially less than this combo...

There was a pattern that looked like an N waterpump laying on the seat as mentioned before. Hood was off car but the car and hood looked pretty sound. I am no authority but seemed like a nice car at a decent price for an N.

Mark, you are right. That thread chaser does chase the hub threads, not the axle threads. The tool I mentioned does the hubcap threads just like the Stevens tool but it can do much more than that in terms of diameters and thread counts/pitches. Very versatile old tool.

I have an antique tool that does everything that tool does and can do it to more than 10 thread sizes and diameters. I wouldn’t sell it either but I feel it is a better tool overall for a nice handheld old tool.

Thanks for the information. The actual wrench allows turning the crankshaft from the motor side of the radiator without going through the crank hole. The crank handle could do that. Thanks, Mike

I have a nice original on the shelf in my shop that has no dents or dings in the fancy work or the core. Is tarnished a little but heck it is old. Had a machinist make me a beautiful brass cap with a Motometer too.

Just curious, what is that vertical opening for? I assume it is part of a hot air stove that has some kind of flexible tubing that is routed to the carburetor?? I have a rebuilt head that has that manifold but I have not yet installed the head on the rebuilt engine that is ready for it. Mike

Is anyone traveling from the East through SW Kansas?

Title says it all. I have 5 wheels packaged and ready for delivery from I-80 in eastern Iowa to SW Kansas along US-50,
midway between Wichita and Denver. Good for some gas or diesel money if interested and going that way. Please let me know. Thanks, Mike

My personal experience that’s been that 3/4 to 1 turn open is seems to work well on a brand new start up as long as everything has been set up right.
