Mike, Check the brass part real close for a very small pin that you could drive out to remove the shaft. I would not want that block as a 13 but it is over 100 years old and someone could use it. Maybe you could stamp it as reproduction so it could not be passed off as the real deal later. It would be a shame to junk it. I vote to let someone have it knowing what it is.

Re: Are my projects pointless now? Looking for 1913 Roadster and Touring body wood plans

Hang in there Benji, I ran into a lot of these type roadblocks while restoring the 1925 Indiana Truck and sometimes waited a year or more to find a way around them but things always fell into place. A 1913 Model T is not rare compared to some other makes so 100% what you need will turn up. My advice...

Re: Are my projects pointless now? Looking for 1913 Roadster and Touring body wood plans

I think someone from here bought the plans from his wife and was going to start selling them or maybe she was still selling them. I remember some posts about it a couple years back. Maybe you can find the posts or someone can repost them here.

Re: Rear wire wheel mount for touring car

I had to give $100 for one a few years ago and then ended up with an extra one in some parts I bought. I would need to check but I think it was bent but if it is able to be used it could be for sale.

My first and only new muffler lasted less than 1/8th of a mile. It looked like yours only no black soot on it yet.

My 1913 engine with casting date in Dec. 1912 has the 3 rivet pan. Second pictures has the aftermarket 2nd tie rod sitting on it that I was testing the fit and did not come with this car.

My 13 has no fasteners on the windshield but one on the firewall on each side and on the top. These are the only pictures I took after I put one side on that was under the rear seat of the car that had been parked since 1928. Someone has put black material in place of the clear on the front side win...

Re: roughest car you have ever restored?

My 1925 Indiana Truck found in the loft of a barn when I was 16. I only found the wood cab and sheet metal for the body and later got the rear half of the frame from the woods in the next county where it had sat for years. Took me over 20 years just to find part of a frame from another Indiana that ...

Dallas, I like yours better on the inside. I wanted to put the wood inside but also want to paint cars in this shop and the old wood holds way more dirt and dust to drop into wet paint so I was going to use drywall and ended up going with reclaimed sheet metal from an old pole barn that was getting ...

I did the same thing 5 or 6 years ago with the old corn crib that I wanted to save from the farm but it was in poor condition so I took it down one board at a time and rebuilt it inside the pole barn to use as a workshop. I replaced the 2x4's with reclaimed lumber and only had to buy the floor joist...

I always thought it would be fun to own a car the same age as me but its even more fun to drive a car the same age as my Grandpa. He was born in 1909 a couple of months after my Model T was built. This is how we named the car Grandpa. It also fits when it is hard to start since it only has the hand ...

I made a real heavy bucking bar in the lathe to back up the rivets in my truck frame. Then I used an air hammer with the correct tip to fit the round end. Heat the rivet and go to it till it is the shape you want. If it cools down heat it again and keep at it. You will get there.

Bob is correct it appears to be off a 1912 EMF Carbide headlight. Thanks everyone for helping me chase it down.
