Re: Question Regarding Reverse
Adjust the reverse band so that when you push on the pedal with your hand it bottoms out about even with the brake and clutch pedal. If you can push it farther it is too loose and if you cant push it as far as the brake and clutch it is too tight. That will put you in the ball park.

I have never been successful lapping the valves, I have had better results with aircraft fuel valve lube.

Re: 1923 Speedster
It sometimes pays off to check-out the pictures. Among his pictures of the speedster for sale he had a picture of a pile of extra parts and tools (the picture has since been deleted). Pile included an almost complete Stevens Driveshaft boxed set of tools. I called him up and he sold me the set for a...

Could be confusion with regards to the side panels above the seat, those are not seat material, they are headliner material.

Re: 1927 Tudor Door Panel Upholstery
I am not aware of door panels as you describe, but then a lot of things can happen to a car with different owners and repairmen over the course of almost 100 years. To my knowledge, the door panel material is the same as the seat material, grey with a white stripe.

Re: Looking to trade
You might get better results listing this in the classifieds. If you want to trade your Model T for a car of the 40's or 50's vintage in similar condition, you will probably need 3 Model T's to make that trade.

Re: Age of these Riverside tires
John, According to the internet, and the internet is never wrong, Wards Riverside tires started date marking tires in the 1970's. Tire date stamps have the year of manufacture as the last digit in the code as the last number in the year in a given decade, so a code ending in 7 could be 1977, or 1987...

Re: Front License Plat Mounting
Early Fords had no provisions for mounting a license plate, there was no factory bracket front or rear. Ford eventually had a combination tail lamp and license plate bracket, but still no front bracket until well into Model T production. A popular method for displaying a front plate as seen in old p...

Richard,
That brass looks great.
By the way, there is not a lot of thread engagement on some of those nuts, you may want to use longer bolts.

Re: Headlight Double Fillement Bulb
John, Those 6cp and 2cp are dim, the same as a tail light, makes me think they are not intended as a low beam so much as a parking light or a light to be seen rather than a light to illuminate the road. Based on the wording in the Ford Service Bulletins, the focus and aim point for the headlights ma...

Re: In-line fuse in Model T charging systems
I agree, a fuse is essential. I recommend placing it at the starter switch on the 12 ga wire for those with starters. I had a fire too. I also keep a 1/2 inch open end wrench on a magnet inside the trunk on the quarter panel, always know where it is.
