Hey Dick, the 2CV is sort of the Euro take on the T and has the same kind of appeal, i had one once, actually married in it, i really enjoyed it and drove the wheels off of it, here's a pic of one like it ;

Re: Matching dates common?

About the remark about the screwhead not being cast in the "negative" : the small plate is screwed on the wood 'plug' or 'core' (officially called the 'pattern' ) and not on the sand mold, so will end up in the finished casting just the way it looks on the plug, chewed up slot and all.

Frank, interesting you show the Citroën cars in your post on ugly french cars, yes they do have very 'different' styling compared to other European cars. :lol: Fun fact; André Citroën was actually called Citroen, without the dots on the e, and he was the son of a wealthy dutch jeweller, he could not...

Frank, the picture you used in your post is of this very nice Dutch couple, the picture is of the accident they had when hauling their T on a trailer behind the Landrover support vehicle. On a side note; the windshield is safety glass The T was rebuilt and they are still traveling with it ! https://...

Re: Eifel cars made by Ford.

In Europese countries cars were and are taxed by the governments through some or other way of calculation which involves the horsepower or the engine capacity. So there has been a tendency for lighter cars with smaller engines or reducing the output, while in the U.S. there was a trend towards ever ...

Re: Propane conversion/ ethanol free gas drift

A well built Propane/LPG system should not pose a greater danger than running a car on gasoline, maybe even less so. In our country LPG remains fairly popular and almost no accidents related to the fuel system occur, Now electric cars, there's a different story, most fire departments over here keep ...

Re: Propane conversion

I run my '66 CJ5 on propane exclusively as it is half the price of gas here (the Netherlands) and am very happy with it, but there are a few things to consider ; - You lose about 10% horsepower which you make up with a slight increase in torque - You lose milage, about 10% again - Engine runs hotter...

Re: Ok, so how much breaking do I really need?

A model T is a car from a different era, you have to drive it as such. But (big BUT here) that is easier said than done, when you drive out in the country with a lot of country roads, you might be able to avoid a lot of modern traffic, but even then you may get into trouble every once in a while whe...

I was a newby myself in a not so distant past, although a trained ships engineer and later trained gun smith for almost 25years, i discovered i had to 'un-learn' a lot of the knowledge about cars that was completely different than the way Henry Ford did it. My wife has a upholstery workshop, she uses a special high temp spray glue for cars. most glues react with PVC and the temperatures on the surfaces in and on cars can really reach high levels when out in the sun for even a few minutes. I'm sure any car upholsterer in your area can help you with one ...

Re: Need Help Finding the Name of This Tool….

The Nyloc nuts are strictly one-time use (although many have used them over and over with no ill effect) and should be replaced, and they should not be on a T that is or should be a representation of how one looked in the past, as the nylocs were invented in 1931, although they at first used fiber i...

All had to be registered with the French authorities, ...
