The lobes of the cam in my car measured .215" of cam lift. I have been watching recent cam discussions and planning when and what to purchase. Pat, 7:1 would take 7 turns of the engine to turn BOTH wheels 1 rotation. Mike has 1 wheel on the ground, if I understand correctly. A 7:1 would take 3 1/2 turns of the engine for 1 wheel rotation.

Re: Hogsheads removal followup

Low Is easiest being externally adjusted. RHD has 2 bands externally adjusted. If you have all 3 externally adjustable, its real fast & easy. Low: With the motor running & the parking brake set, tighten the low band adjuster until you hear a change in the triple gear noise. Back off 1/2 turn & lock...

Re: Removing the Package Shelf on a 25 Coupe

Read the 1925 service bulletin on Cimorelli's site located here.

http://www.cimorelli.com/mtdl/service_b ... sb1925.pdf

There are detailed instructions for adjusting the seat location on Coupe starting on page 73. It appears to be very thorough with many photos.

Re: What have you done to your Model T in December?

I was able to start my Runabout today for the first time in months. Several small electrical problems were fixed. I was shocked (sorry, poor choice of words) when I noticed that my generator was working again. I replaced a broken Bendix spring and noticed that my starter has about 3/16" of fore/aft ...

Re: 1924 model t ford coupe door window openers

Welcome, Rob. There have been threads on this forum dealing with this problem. I would use your favorite search engine with window regulator and mtfca in the search. Add mtfca to any search to get forum results. Also, go to Cimorelli's website cimorelli.com and click on the model t digital library. ...

Imagine having a town law that requires that cars have tires. Too many without means were driving on bare wheels. Pine Ridge, location of Wounded Knee, is such a place. This is the third photo that I have seen of that car and the woman sitting in it. This is the first that I have seen of her husband, who was an unemployed guitar player. I have a book of old Ford-related photos (I don't recall the title at the moment since I bought it some 30 years ago). It has a ph...

Re: 1926/7 Touring Interior Wood By The Numbers

Robert, did the 662 seat spring support board come with notches at ends to clear the metal frame? The Fordwood drawing looks like there are no notches. I made a board for my Runabout and I notched it to make the top of the board flush with the top of the seat frame. 662.jpg My car also did not have ...

Cylinder head outlets and the inlets are everywhere. Why not find a good one and toss the one with pits? I know that they are available. But they also cost (in Europe, where I am) 40-45 USD, so - as the condition is not so extremely bad - I'll try first with "JB Weld" (an metal-armed Epoxy resin, g...

And I thought my Runabout's top looks bad. Ok, that is worse but mine sucks too. My top was installed in the 90's by an Amish buggy maker who didn't know Model T's. He installed the pads over the bow straps, not the bow curves. It looks like sheeeet.

I left the turn signal running when I parked Henrietta. Days later, the Optima red top was flatter than a pancake. Allan, I solved that problem on my Runabout by installing a beeper on the turn signal circuit. I can hear it over the noise and vibration while driving. I must admit that I need to ask...

Does your neck have a hairline crack that would let it expand rather than grasping threads? My old radiator had cracks and was "fixed" by someone with a standard hose clamp.

I was wondering too. The intake valves appear to be spring-loaded and not connected to the cam. Downward piston movement (pressure differential) would open valves. My understanding is that some period motorcycle engines had valves like these.
