Re: Wanted: Early Starter Switches

I went through this. I have a 1925 and rebuilt a 2 screw switch as good as new. With the plunger extension on it, it wouldn't come through the floor far enough to do the job! I finally used a old stock late style switch which has been a good one.

The rust makes it difficult to identify. Does that firewall have four holes for the patent plate or two? Two is a 1925. Late 1925 firewalls have no bell crank for the carburetor, but the two holes for it are still there.

Re: Gas Lamp Hook Up Kit Installation

I'm working on my own kit now. I found some Tee's on ebay that I believe when I do some modifying will be the same as original. I'll see soon!

I saw a pair of NOS Ford script somewhere recently, fronts and rears. I think they are $100 a pair.

Rustoleum Black Spray Cans

Rustoleum is having a labeling problem. The caps are supposed to indicate the color. They are not. I bought a can of semi gloss yesterday, and the contents were gloss black. I returned the can this morning, and noticed another can of satin black which has the color cap. I'll see how it goes today? W...

Want to buy an original gas light tube for the radiator that was used from 1913-14. Condition is not important.

I didn't think you would get started on this car so soon! Congratulations. Keep us updated. My feeling is that the two ladies simply took the 1917 to their Ford dealer, and had them switch bodies?

Re: 1912 Steering Quadrant Question

I put a NOS quadrant on my 1925. I didn't wish to change the location of the existing holes in the column tube. It was a difficult job, but I marked the holes from the tube to the quadrant from the inside, and drilled a very small hole from the inside of the quadrant, and kept enlarging it with a fi...

Re: OIL PAN DIFFERENCE

First of all Richard, a stock 1925 has a 4 dip pan from the factory. I use the stiffeners on all my T's. For a 3 dip, some of the holes have to be elongated to work, but it's not to difficult to do.

Re: 1912 Steering Quadrant Question

When I have the quadrant off a steering column, I'm careful to note the original size of the two rivets, and the exact size and style of the heads, so when the new rivets are installed they will look exactly like they are supposed to. I've seen too many where this hasn't been done, and it just doesn...

1913-14 Horns

I'm amazed at how many 1913-14 cars have the horns mounted incorrectly. Don't the owners bother to look at original photos, and literature?

The way to tell if a pitman arm is useable, mike the ball. Just because it has a Ford script doesn't mean much.

Re: WTB: Top Saddles

The Ford script saddles were only made with the small hole to my knowledge. There are those with as series of dots cast into them. I've never figured out what those dots mean, but there had to be some reason for it. You can't even see those dots when the leather pad is in place, but I had a good fri...
