Beautiful example of an Ames Body.., Not many like that. The color will grow on you. Remember, a lot of people repainted T's because they wanted to be different than all BLACK. Ames would paint to any color of your liking. Very nice car at a bargain price.

Neal's gasket was a work of art and in a clover design. An original Chevy gasket will work for a time but with his water neck adapter a no go. Did a lot over the years, just sayin'

Do you need both or just the top? There was an issue Neal and I addressed just before his death and it keeps them from blowing in the front. I do need a picture of the style you have as there were some changes.

Simple..., literacy rates were very low at that time and a lot of immigrants which compounded the issue not learning english yet. Part numbers, ie, numerals were simpler and universal.

Soak plated cotter pins in old battery acid, muric acid, or even white distilled vinegar for a few days and the plating comes off. Rinse with water.

The Laylock type D overdrive for Volvo's are getting difficult to find and expensive to repair/rebuild. I should know, I have early Volvo's with them. As stated, you can not beat the KC Warford for what you are going to use it for.

To correct the compression ratio, simple as the old school racers did, make your own dome out of billet aluminum an attach from the bottom by means of machine screws, drill and tap the added dome(about 8 total per piston). You can buy brand new NOS piston and rings (8 total) on eBay for like $100.00...

Why are you not using the stock 1925/1926/1927/1928 Chevy crank with rods (Modify with dippers). Use Chevy 265 CI stock pistons/rings with bushings on the wrist pins. Quit complicating it!

Similar in design as yours Kevin. Dick McKee years back had one that was like a block off plate but had the water porting like yours and the outlet like yours going to the water pump. Wish I had a picture, a very good design.

I will say this for the last time as it appears to fall on deaf ears.., but here I go! The upper bolts of the rear engine oil pan bolts are a "peg". Meaning you tighten them, then loosen by about 1 1/2 turns or so. Tightening is not to be confused with an 1/8 turn more to snap off. The side bolts go...

Normally those panels are installed as a "cross grain" support. I would reinstall new ones as it is part or its integrity.

I personally, getting out of the Model T's for many reasons. Number one reason is thin skinned, long toed, feelings on their cuff type people. Meet Great folks here and some..., let's just say I have blocked their contact.

Wonderful you have complete engines! Did many conversions over the years but now retiring from the game. Those 1928 AB series engines are very well built.., even the crankshaft and rods can be adapted to a T block! The heads can be ported up to 300 CFM.., that equals to almost half of a Chevy small ...

Way to many variables..., ie, compression ratio, contact material of the points, condenser rating, coil type and construction with output voltage. Stick with the recommendations by the vehicle specs, they did all the homework for you.
