Re: Fords and Folks

I think many people forget how frugal Americans used to be. It was not that uncommon, even into the 60's for people to buy bottom-of-the- -barrel model cars, and then load them up with select options that they specifically wanted. My 58 Plymouth is a great example. Base model Plaza sedan ... monoton...

Re: What makes you love the collector car that no one else does?

Pat's mention of the stripper 62 Biscayne is similar to the 58 Plaza that took me 40 years to find. Back in the 1970's, I was more into finned Buicks than Mopars, and had found a flawless turquoise interior in a 60 Invicta at Ray's Auto Wrecking. Ray stacked his car as deep as five high, and at the ...

During the period when mushroom stands were a common sight about
the Tri-Burg area, Cuthbert did a lot of patrolling with the zebra dun mule.
The vanadium misted shoes gave the beast a precise grip and sure footing,
ideal for roads less patrolled.

Casterveldt was a principle in the Helix Mill, operated the Humptulips
Junction switching yards, was a major player in the mushroom moss trade.
It is said he was a major consumer of the mushrooms he produced, thereby
producing his own byproduct. Mount Stinkmore was named in tribute to

Re: Finding the oil leak

Probably the best way to find the leak is just look at the T. If you see
a T, you have found the leak, or MANY leaks !

Best way to get rid of the leak is to sell the T and get a Tesla.

Most Model T's had been pitched in a furnace by the time the Big Boys
were erected. The last T made was 13 years old when the first BB rolled
out of the Alco shops.

7 years I have owned this TT of mine. Never had a T before. Never drove someone else's, or was ever around them, except to see them in fields, barns, or going down the road. So, self-schooling on how they are "supposed to" operate has proven interesting at times. Upon delivery, I had a helluva worko...

Modern lighting is a no-go, in my book. Some people like the Ford script across the radiator. To me it looks like the way people put big stickers across their windshield header these days. Few industries are as immune to outside influences as nonsense. The demand far outstrips supply for the really high grade stuff. Transoms were much more common at the time, and keeping
