Picking a mount with handlebars seemed like the best choice at the time. The saddle was modified by KD for two left stirrups and vanadium blevins.
He was often found making good time going in the wrong direction.

Half-Sole tires? This is a Jan 1920s ad. HlfSld.jpg It's a bright paint job and a delightful setting. There are two Gates half sloe items on ebay right now. A similar ad and a post card showing a roof garden atop one of the factory buildings where "workers of all ranks" could enjoy "recreation and r...

Yes, That is a White radiator. White sold primarily a chassis. Bodies were up to the user and several firms made them. This is a very unusual one. The mining must have been pretty good to afford a nice bus like that in 1924.

Re: Speedster project turns 102 years old today, born Feb., 4, 1919

That's a great looking car. It must be a lot of fun. My Speedster is a February car too. 1920 though. I built it in 1966 originally so it has been a Speedster longer (55yrs.) than it was a touring car (46yrs.). I too tried to make it as period correct as possible. There is a lot of satisfaction in t...

It's great to see that photo Pete. I was very fond of your family and cars on the brief moments I was around them. This is #714 I believe when it was displayed at the LA Co. Museum. It was the early '80s when I took these. They had some big murals behind the cars then. Red09b.jpg Red09a.jpg You can ...

"The Four Wheel Drive Auto Company, more often known as Four Wheel Drive (FWD)". The license plate is most likely a 1918.
It resembles this ad.

One of my biggest thrills in life was at that age sitting on a leather seat and holding a wood steering wheel. I try to pass on the experience any chance I get. I'm guessing the occasion was to photograph the new 1914 T.
Great pic!

And isn't it fortunate, Perry, there were enough parakeet's on hand to gobble up those beans after KD spilt them? It certainly would have been a mess by Thursday.

As far as removing the dents a tapered mandrel with a slot for the glass channel could be pushed down and light taping around the dent while pushing the mandrel would take care of the sides of the channel. On the main or center portion where you can't get a mandrel in a piece of brass rod could be s...

It's more than just a catalog now. With the Martynn Vowell illustrations and great photos it shows how many of the assemblies go together. The differences in parts for different years is better shown now I think. A good reference for any T owner.

His levitational prowess was always a toss up. Spectators never knew if he would fly or fall flat on his face. For that reason he wore a nose piece that looked like a beak. If you look closely you can see it under his sleeve.
