I do not see it attached to the spring, but it does look that way. Just the way the photo is. Looks like it is attached to a cross bracket.

Good ideas there Pat. I just drain the carburetor. That way varnish cannot build up on the needle and then you have a stuck needle in the spring. Better to let the float just hang.

If you could turn that bracket around so it attaches closer to the engine it will support the muffler better.
Supporting on the very end allows the muffler and exhaust pipe to flex too much where they come together. A bit floppy if you understand what I am trying to explain.

You should take the time to do it now. Well worth the effort. This year I am driving modern iron since I am bringing the speedster.
That pickup would be a great car for the trip. If you can go 100 miles, you can go 1000 miles.
Hope to see you there.

Re: What have you done to your Model T in August?
Thursday I drove about 20 miles to a local car show, so I could hand out flyers to my car show next month. Met a lot of nice people, an old friend, and took a young couple for a ride. Saturday I went on a tour with the Dairyland Tin Lizzie group and added another 130 miles. A young lady in the group...

I know there is a good group of Model T'ers where you live. They invited us up from Milwaukee group to have a meeting with them. Langs, Snyders. Chaffins, etc all have the books you need. The service manual and the books from the MTFCA. You can also order them from the Museum in Richmond if you woul...

Last year you called it the third annual reunion. Is this a groundhog day moment? Always the third annual.
Looking at last years, it was at 4PM so Steve could eat his dinner on time.
How are you going to top riding in Rob's B?

He said there are some rear axles in there. You never know if you will find a couple of good bearings inside and the rest is junk. That is how I got all my extra rear bearings. If the caps are on the ends, you might get 4 good ones.

got up too late, so I drove to Kohler-Andrea State Park. Love walking along the shore of Lake Michigan. If I had a suit with me, I would have jumped in and walked out to the sandbar. Maybe I can get the wife to go soon. Water should be warm by now.......This is what the dunes looked like up the road...

Re: Just Curious About Engine Oil Levels
When I change the oil I leave the upper petcock open. This lets excess oil drain. I usually only have to add 3 1/2 quarts. Then I leave the oil container on the floorboards to remind me that I have not closed the petcock. Sometimes I leave the oil cap there, too. I let it drain about 30-60 minutes a...

Maybe Parkview Lodge would store trailers, and we could drive to Copper Harbor, stay overnite, and drive back the ne...

Are you planning on inviting Model A's as well? That would make for a bigger group.
Haven't been to the Porkies in almost 50 years.
Jason could always ride with me and his wife drive the F-150. The second day we would switch. I hear she is a peach.
