Engine miss
I have had my 11 engine started but it misses on numbers three and four. It came to me newly rebuilt. I had the coils rebuilt and the carb rebuilt. Shorting those cylinders out makes no noticeable in the rpm’s. I have switched coils around no difference. I thought it was an intake leak because spray...

Re: Intake leak
I have the glands installed. I first used the original style copper rings and separate glands, then I switched to the three in one style copper sandwich style gaskets, again with the glands. I used a smear of Permatex ultra both sides each time. I checked that the glands were not too wide and not le...

Intake leak
My 11 starts but runs rough. Shorting out number Three or number four spark plugs make very little if any difference, numbers one and two make a great difference. Spraying brake cleaner thru a nozzle directly on the rear intake port wants to stall the engine. I put my hand above the carb to stop any...

Intake manifold leak
Yesterday was a big day here at Artland. I got the 11 to start and run. However, it runs pretty rough and shorting out the number three and four cylinders does not make much difference. I determined I have an intake manifold leak by spraying brake clean at the rear manifold to block port and slowing...

Re: 1912 windshield stay rod support clamp
I just bought two from Chaffins. Dave said they just didn't make it into the online catalog. They both needed some material removed from the edges to allow them to not interfere with the fender bracket when tilted back to the angle of the rod. Art

windshield glass
I took my 1911 windshield frames and new brass channel to a glass shop to replace the cracked original plate glass. Yesterday he called to say 1/4 inch safety glass will not fit in the channel/frame because the glass he removed was 3/16. What do you guys do for new windshield glass? Thanks, Art

1911 floorboards
Can someone give me the measurements or post pictures for the notches in the front floorboard for an 11 Touring to clear the bottom of the steering column and the back of the engine head and speedometer cable? I have new floorboards with no notches so they will not fit without hitting the rear of th...

Steering shaft length
My late Oct 11 built Touring came with a steering shaft that is 52 inches long from the bottom of the pitman arm threads to the bottom of the top flange. It seems too short making the pitman arm interfere with the engine pan. What length steering shaft should I have? Thanks, Art

Re: 1911 fender fit
You all have given me some great suggestions. I am going to try the laying the fender on its side and push the skirt in to reduce the width at the front. That is where the problem seems to be. These fenders were in storage for years and transported a few times so the could have gotten spread out. Th...

Re: 1911 fender fit
I have heated and bent the front fender brackets up, down, forward and back, but I cant’t get the front fenders from pointing to the outside at the front. The front fenders bills are level, and the running board brackets are straight and level. Any suggestions? Thanks, Art
