Re: What's the Secret to a Quiet T?

The same was said by Charlie, the local Harley dealer. He and his brother would go down to the rail yard to watch them unload the new Ts when they were kids. He said it was the sweetest sound ever but in a few weeks, they sounded like heck. I like the sounds a T makes no matter how nice or how loud....

Re: Just an Old Car Painting

I saw some pictures taken at the Museum with my paintings in the background and realized I hadn't included any of them in this thread. Here's one. TRdstr.jpg They were fun to do, and it's been long enough that I had forgotten them. I tried to do them in a style of the Ford advertising illustrations ...

It's hard to come to the forum without thinking about Steve. We all want what's best for him even though we don't know what that is. Incidentally, that looks for all the world like KD's raceabout in the foreground of the second photo, with a substantial contribution of used tires to add to the tower. I'm glad you mentioned KD's Raceabout, Rich. That is in fact it in the previous mentioned photo. Those new to this thread may not ...

Dixie's Diner cruise night, this year

It was fun to drive the T to Dixie's Diner for this year's car show. I'm sure the trained nurses etc. have seen much worse. Patients with head injuries can be difficult and even violent. They understand it as part of their job and can be very kind and forgiving. It's just part of the job they don't mention. They will do what's needed and Steve will not remember it. B...

Searching for the odd stuff is fun. I often get sidetracked on other odd stuff I wouldn't see otherwise. This head is fascinating.
I hope we find out what it is.

FWIW, REO used similar rocker arm mounts with the yoke and threaded into the head for several years. Rollers on the rockers is interesting.

We must remember, before stars were brought to the Basin, a mile was much further than it is now. That accounts for the many worn tires in the pile. It's too bad that Cuthbert's falsetto vocal and Duke Fitzellwitz's tuba weren't put together on and record. I would certainly but one.

Thanks for bringing this up, Rich. Many helpful locals brought more tires in an effort to get the pile so high that Weasel couldn't be heard. However, his voice carried quite well except during the blizzard of '33. Ernie offered ear plugs until the supply ran out. tirez.jpg Macafee always insisted o...

Goodness! I thought that was my nephew at first.
Erasmus did well with items he acquired that way. His downfall was choking on a 3-electrode, Air Friction spark plug.
