Small Drum Ruckstell SOLD

Complete rear end. Shift locks moves and everything turns. Rear wheels need new wood but the demountable rims are there and aren't sharp. I have not had it open. You'll need to pick this up or arrange transport, I'm in southern CA. I will be making a trip to Davis (near Sacramento) later this month;...

Re: Installing balance beads

I tried using a vibrating engraver; it worked but was painfully slow. I now do them after cutting off the rubber stem, prior to installing the metal one. It's quick and easy.

If someone buys this I have two spare engines they can have for it! Definitely enough parts to build a solid spare, plus some pieces left over!

Contact your own insurance and let them deal with the other one. The 35% sounds like BS.

Star Engines

I started a post in OT, but it doesn't get as much traffic there. Not Ford, but I want to find a home for these; the price is right if you're working on a Star! There are two engines, one with a 23 casting date, the other is 24. Both are very near complete. One has the block busted up with freeze cr...

Re: Star Engines

So far we've saved 4 chassis, 2 trailer loads and about 10 truck loads of parts, mostly T,A, late 30s Ford, some Buick and some Dodge. We're down to the last few bits... this is one I'd really like to find a home for!

Star Engines

Not Ford, but I want to find a home for these. There are two engines, one with a 23 casting date, the other is 24. Both are very near complete. One has the block busted up with freeze cracks, the other has a pulley on it for a stationary engine. It sure looks like enough to build one good engine. I’...

Hi Hank.

I checked the number in the email, it's got the correct number. Please try again. I'll be out of coverage for about 30 minutes sometime early afternoon, otherwise it should be fine.

Re: Adding alternator to 1917 T

You really don't need to do the alternator. I put a starter on my '11. I use a 6V Optima battery. I bought a Battery Tender; the connection is a pig tail about 12" long that hangs below the rear seat (you can barely see it). I can drive my car for days, always use the starter, and I don't have to ch...

The person who owns the property doesn't want people dismantling assemblies in the yard. Someone would need to take them as is.

Re: TT rear ends, free

I agree, that's why the owner is willing to give them to someone who wants them. I've found homes for a model A chassis and truck of model A stuff, 2 Buick chassis plus a trailer of other Buick stuff, and I've brought a bit home. We've made progress but there's still a Dodge chassis and a number of ...

TT rear ends, free

There's a 1918 TT rear end and a TT Ruckstell. Both are complete and have external brakes. You can have them, but you've got to pick them up quickly, preferably by the weekend. You'll need to be able to load them. I don't know the date they'll be scrapped, but I know it will be by the middle of next...

Tom; The phone number you emailed for your friend is disconnected. I've put these up on the AACA site as well. All someone has to do is remove them, if they want to donate something to the grand kid's college fund that's great but not required. You've got to remove the entire undercarriage, it's not...

Re: Dome pistons with Low Head?

I've done this in 4 engines. Only one needed a little flap disking in one cylinder for the head to lie flat on the block without a gasket. I haven't tried a 09-10 head, but my '11 is runnung an early 11 head with this. The other heads have been in the '14 and up variety.

Re: What is this?

Thank you Dick! There’s another 6 cylinder Dodge next to this, I don’t know the year. I wouldn’t have thought a car that late would have open valves, but who knows.... there doesn’t seem to be any way there could have been a cover, what with the pushrods running up the outside of the block. The 4 cy...

I know it's not Ford, but it appears to be early and large, at least that's what we think based on the aluminum engine case and open valves. It is 6 cylinder and it is definitely a large car. The springs are huge..... I need to identify this and find someone that wants it ASAP. Everything in the yar...

If you can't find the rivet you need locally then go to McMaster Carr's website, they've got pretty much everythnig in the way of fasteners and they're fast and reasonable to ship.
