I am no expert, but my grandpa taught me to make sure the side angled electrode runs "uphill"and on the side. That way any oil that collects on the electrodes will not run to the gap but away from the gap.

That is a good looking 1927 frame. It's the later stronger frame with the flanged rear cross member. I would jump on it since you need it.

Rootlieb might not "make" them. They may just sell someone else's radiator. Everyone thought they sold gas tanks, but they actually sold the tanks that were made by the man in Arkansas. It would be worth checking to see if the do actually make them.

Scott, I am 99% sure the 26-27 wishbones are different. Ill include a link to the "Improved Models a study of" threads I did a few years ago. Thanks Scott. I knew the bolt size and hole size was different, but I never measured them to compare to a car spring clamp. Glad you had one for him. Most of mine are getting pretty sad as to condition.

Scott. The facing tool is a "miracle tool" It's so hard to get those surfaces parallel without it. I have never seen another one in over 42 years of collecting Stevens tools.

The seat frames are all metal except for a wood cross board (aprox 1 x 4) that fits into a slot on each side of the seat frame. The springs are all metal. There is no wood frame attached to the springs. There is a sheet metal channel/flange at the bottom edge of the springs that the upholstery tucks...

The old band linings have not really shrunk. It is more like they have "relaxed" When new, the weave was tight and the lining surface was very "firm". Over time the weave has loosened up causing the lining to get shorter and the surface to be a softer feel. I take the nos old linings and crank them ...

Now that I look at it I agree with right rear. So half of the markings appear to br OK.

These are good manifolds. I have used them with very good results. and like Jay said they do not warp as easy. I have never seen a warped one. and this is a good price ...
