We were "zooming" down the freeway going flat out when we were pulled over by a CHP who informed us that we were going too slow to be on...

I don't anticipate the car being driven anywhere significantly lengthy..... Lisa, never say never. I bought my '24 Touring in 1996 and spent at least a week just driving around the block (right turns only the first few days). After a couple of weeks, I ventured to the County Library and back (about...

Dick , no the cars need the vehicles standards WHEN they were built !! Toon, that's an improvement. A friend of mine in the Dutch Austin club imported a 1932 Austin Heavy 12 into NL from the UK in the 1970s, and (as I recall) had to replace the original headlamps with modern sealed beam lamps, add ...

...All this legislation was brought on since they discovered a lot of very expensive cars that were "imported" were in fact built up from a mix-n-match of stolen parts, think Ferraris, Maseratis, Porsches, Mercedes , Range Rovers etc. In other words, yet another case where laws preventing crooks fr...

Mel, I can't really help you much. Requirements change through the years. I do remember a friend who imported a pre-war Austin from England to NL in the 1970s. Unlike the US, where a vehicle has to meet all legal requirements in effect during the year of manufacture, NL required a car to meet all th...

Ken Meeks car rolled. She survived, he did not. I've been thinking about that during this thread. I'm afraid that the hard and fast rule is that there is no hard and fast rule. Their open car rolled twice. Marge was ejected as it started to roll the first time. Ken was not belted in, but was fairly...

I made this post on my IPhone 📱 I wanted to make the accent marks correct but my skills are limited 😉 Jim, it's even easier on the iPhone. Hold your finger on the e , then slide your finger to the right and you get all the choices of e plus accents. Stop at the one you want and release your finger.

Jim, as a quick side note, you can make accents on a Windows-based computer by holding down the Alt key and typing 130. That way, you get - for example - Irénée du Pont. (I'm sure you can do it on a Mac as well, but I don't know how.)
