Re: Tops for adjusting Kevlar bands?

If a band fully locks up the drum in low or reverse, it's tight enough. Brakes are their own animal, as you should always do your "slowing down" with the throttle and use brakes to come to a full stop and hold it there. Pumping brakes is a misuse of their designed purpose though it is safer on the d...

the only thing I'd change is replace the spark plug wires with barbed wire so that it can hurt you even when it is not running.

Not that you have to do this... I always take the valves to my engine guy and let him kiss them to assure that nothing got knocked out in handling. Once perfect at 45 degrees, do a 3 angle seat with a 46 degree seat which will "pound in" in a few seconds of running for a perfect seat. I consider thi...

The good news is that Bob has either driver's side or passenger's side depending on where he ships them. Only have to stock 1/2 the normal amount of parts that way?

Flatten hills with a Full Flow Valve for your NH

Bucking and snarfing on hills? Surging? Can't keep up? Just HAVE to have a fuel pump?? It's probably because you're handicapped with a bad repro float valve which strangles fuel flow! All Full Flow Valves come standard with a LEAD washer to get the best seal possible. go from standard repro on the l...

I don't think anyone is saying "you don't have it right". You just don't have ALL of it and that is why your radiator supports are exposed...you're still missing trim pieces. Additionally, if the thimble cannot come "up" through the upper shell and the shell has a slot (not a hole), then the shell i...

how far off the hood shelf should the radiator flange be when set up correctly? Once you fit the missing parts to your shell that I listed, they will dictate where/how things should be mounted (as well as hood fit will) Now, if your shell has slots and will not allow the thimble to fit through, the...

Duane they DID overheat back then, if allowed to operate continuously when running, a coil spends much more time at rest than firing particularly when running on MAG take a look at a roller timer and you'll note that for every period a coil operates on DC, it cools off for 7 periods, and as mentione...

You're not far from getting it... one thing you're missing now that you've shown this view, are the little trim pieces which rivet to the end/bottom of the shell: 3947LB & 3947RB For info: https://www.modeltford.com/item/3947LB.aspx with these missing, it makes it look like there is an unplanned gap...

Sounds like you plan to significantly exceed the duty cycle. Prepare for it to get hot, or very hot.

If after using it thusly, you intend to replace it back into your coil box, carry a spare coil.

when it comes to hills, I would bet that your NH's are NOT stock. The reason is, I'll bet that they've been rebuilt, and if so, the float valve is a repro with a too-small through hole. Because of this, fuel does not flow as readily into the bowl particularly on hills
