As I see it, cars built in calendar year 1908 are numerically as close to 1909 as they are 1907. Thusly, these cars can just as easily be called 1907 models. Which brings up the point, why are we limiting ourselves in thinking to single year jumps ? Since we so often celebrate centennials, and are s...

Re: OT - Adventures of Kalamity Dick - Fact or Fiction?

Gaining widespread public usage with the rise in popularity of the mushroom stands, the resultant frequency of foul flatulence led to the term "smokehouse" being coined, for those creating quite a cloud. It was not uncommon to hear patrons at the Terminal Café, and other local haunts saying things l...

Rich 2, Your humbleness for Cuthbert is only exceeded by Cuthbert's disdain for attention. Truth is, he was quite well known for his yodeling of Pythagorian hymns. Something he learned as a child, while being mentored in the goat roping arts by the Pythagorian elders. Duke Fitzellwitz' use of Cuthbe...

Bird seasoning is a matter of personal taste, even today. In Cuthbert's day, partaking of the ever popular roadside mushroom stand led to mushroom gas. Many felt that a good seasoning would help, but nutmeg proved to be the wrong taste, and the Nutmeg Incident was the tragic result. Even those with ...

Just a side note: The LaFleur sisters' secret association with the Pythagorians, funding their flimflam sauce business, resulted in the Pythagorians having a steady supply of the sauce for their hedgehog sandwich chain. Many said the combo was far superior to bacon-wrapped aardvark snouts. Heinrich ...

The Pythagorians rejected the mezcal, just as they rejected mallets, saying both were the work of Beelzebub. They DID find that the horn worm, when whipped to a bright green paste, added zip to the hedgehog sandwiches, and prevented corrosion of electrical connections in damp applications. Kalamity ...

To smooth our road, we had 40' of chainlink fence tied to a piece of 2"
pipe, which was laced to a tether chain. By hooking the chain over our
tow ball, we would drag the assembly to the end of the road, when going
out, and upon returning, hook up and drag it back. This kept the road quite
smooth.
