Rainer, If I remember correctly, this car is new to you. You really should remove the rear wheels and check your bearings, sleeves, and seals before you drive the car any long distance. You only need the puller and a new cap at this point. I suggest you get the newer cap. rainer1.jpg , rainer.jpg IN...

If it is the same as mine, remove the cotter pin, rotate the castle nut one click, re-install the cotter pin. That is probably all you need. Put a little oil in the hinge as well. Take her out for a ride and see if that is tight enough. Just one click at a time - it doesn't take much.

Re: APB: Just got email about stolen T’s
I assume they called the cops after the deal was made and before the 5K changed hands. Why is it so hard to put a lock on the trailer? At least they had a gps. Maybe need 2. Hide one in a car.

Less than 30 miles from home and all hell breaks loose. You could almost push the car the rest of the way. You would think that car was getting old. Glad to hear you made it. Maybe next year I can follow you part of the way.

Re: 2021 Covered Bridge Tour pictures
I did my own tour a couple years ago with modern iron when I drove through Rockville. My fascination is with the woodwork and how they put the bridges together. Each bridge seems to be different. Amazing that they can span the distance that they do. They built a lot of bridges in a small amount of a...

Jay,
Have you been reading the Farmers Almanac? Is this your prediction for this winter. Model T's are lots of fun in the snow.

Like John,
Coolant, stabilizer, plus oil change, drain my carburetor, and put the car on jack stands. Last year I cheated though, Jan 1 was a Sunday, we got 8 inches of fresh snow, and no salters were out so I had to go for a ride. Weeee

Re: Rear light and license plate holder?
You could lengthen the two upper bolts on the Y carrier and build a bracket that is attached there, or use a piece of bar stock to be attached between the tabs on the rim of the wheel. Or try to find a way to attach your bracket to the bottom of the frame on the left side in such a way that you can ...

I went to a car show today, gave a ride to an older gentleman, and then parked next to a Lamborghini. I think the car is the background is trying to look like a souped up Model T Paddy Wagon. It is probably a lot of plastic.

Just remember to leave him a bucket at the end of the driveway with a note telling him where the well is located. Leave a ladle also in case he needs a drink.

I will also post this notice on FB for other Model T'ers that would like to contribute.

Re: Y spare tire carrier.
Ignacio, I posted some more photos for you on FB. They are on Model T Ford Club of Facebook. On my carrier the upper brackets are riveted. The bolts for the triangle normally take a thin nut that is tapered on one side. They did not work on my carrier so I had to use the thicker tapered nuts. Hope t...

I got my ride, too. I think Rob left Saturday night.
Dallas got a speedster ride too, I think. I do not know what I will do next year. Trailer, or drive. Time will tell.
I hope Steve has an uneventful ride back home.

Re: SPOKES vs. WIRE WHEELS [Model A]
The early A wire wheels look good on a T. They have the same profile. Yes the expense is getting adaptors that will fit. However, the drop center rims are 100 times easier to put on and take off. I believe the tires have a longer life as well.

Dallas, You missed the family I took out today. Mom and 3 kids. The third kid has a disease and was confined to a wheelchair today. Then he got stung by a bee. When he got in the car he told me he wanted the entire ride, not a cutoff version. I think they all liked the Doc Hudson slide in the gravel...

Did you look for city directories in the library? County clerk or Register of deeds could look it up if you meet a nice gov worker.
