Re: '21 Runabout Weather Flap

Mine, also wrapped around the front bow, neither a roadster or a 21, but the flap is designed as a V that goes in front of and behind the top glass frame, with a slot for the windshield wiper arm to fit into.

Only once, in my entire membership since 2009, have I ever received the magazine in the first month it covers, and that was the January 2022 edition.

Re: Blockley tyres available?

Lee from Blockley emailed me and determined he had quoted the wrong postage. Postage for 4 tubes to NJ is 65 British Pounds. That's better than the 190. The larger number was for tires and tubes together. LOL

Re: Blockley tyres available?

I just received a quote from Blockley for 4 inner tubes. At 35 pounds per tube plus postage of 190 pounds, that puts it at 330 pounds That's 400 bucks American. There's no way in hell....

Re: WTB - Valve Stems

Will, If you are want originals, what make and part number are you looking for? It is my understanding that the new metal stems will only take the new reproduction nuts and cover. Am I correct?? I think that's correct. I am in talks right now with someone to procure a set of originals plus covers.

Will, the Blockley valve stems are the more usual fatter stems, if that is of concern to you. They take the more plentiful hardware.

Allan from down under.
Allan,

The more plentiful hardware: would that be the currently made reproduction covers and nuts?

WTB - Valve Stems

What are my chances of someone having FIVE stems, bridge washers and nuts they would be willing to part with. I'm looking to get them for the inevitable of not being able to obtain metal stemmed tubes ever again for my current Centerdoor project. Or are they "unobtainium?" Let me know your price...T...

OK, I did find the page that gives the date. I'm told there are more pictures of #2 than the two side shots. If there really are, I'm not smart enough to find them. I have no trouble finding all the photos of table saws and glassware on the local auction companies' sites, but this one has me stumpe...

Re: 1922 Centerdoor Progress.

Having received some rough pieces from another Centerdoor that is long gone, I’m readjusting my sill thickness to 1 1/4 inches instead of 1 5/16th inches. I’ll probably cut new wood to the larger size and creep up to the smaller size. I’m not sure how much of a difference 1/16th inch makes over all....

I'm wanting to replicate a set of hood shelf blocks for 1922. Anybody have some, front and back, that could send me general measurements.

Yeah, yeah, I know....I can buy them from a supplier. But I wanna try making my own.

Thanks

I used cold galvanizing spray paint on a gas tank and the paint turned to powder that you could wipe off with your hands.

Eastwood makes a two part paint in a spray can. You puncture the seal of the bottom of the can then mix by shaking and then spray

There's not enough space currently in my basement to lay the sill patterns out flat on the floor. However they are drawn on 7 pieces of 9 x 12 inch paper taped together.
