Looking for engine number reference 1930 Chev

My latest arrival, a 1930 Chev.
I'm having trouble getting any feedback on where to search for the following clarifications -
1. Where my car was made
2. What year the engine was made as its not the original number matching the original paperwork. 1929 was 46 HP v 1930 HP is 50 HP so is this engine a 46 HP?

My Grandfather used baby food jars ( small & large) and mayonnaise jars. He screwed the lids to wooden rotisseries so he could see what was inside then just unscrew the jar from the lid on the down side so nothing spilled out. My Grandparents recycled everything but toilet paper.

Manually sculpting out a nest for the hull in foam could work. A display table could be made up with foam panels with their surfaces sculpted to look like waves and a wake, and a space carved out to allow the hull to set down into it to the waterline. If the foam panels were made in two pieces, they could be easily put in place to display the ship...

Well, I went and did it - I bought the Flanders 20 that was advertised in the HCCA classifieds, see the attached pics. The Flanders 20 was built by EMF as a direct competitor to the Model T Ford, but Ford just lowered his prices to maintain his market dominance. The original cars came with a terribly fragile two-speed transaxle, but were recalled...

Yet a public backlash against the $600 reporting mandate spurred the IRS to postpone it for a year at the end of 2022. The IRS is now delaying it for another year and proposing to increase the threshold to $5,000 for tax year 2024.

Big racers like Ford's 999 and the Locomobile, Old 16 are well known because of their record-breaking performances. There were many other monsters that slipped out of sight due to less amazing history.
I don't recall seeing this one until an Antique Automobile magazine article featured it. In 1906, Johnathan Maxwell built a 12-cylinder opposed...

Thanks for the comments. Peter Helk painted several Vanderbilt Cup paintings. Had the Maxwell 12 raced or won in it, he might have painted one of it.

I once bought a Model T and the seller insisted, I would need to get some supplement to replace the lead in non-leaded gas. I told him that leaded gas came out after the Model T era was over. He didn't believe me.
Her is an article that I read today on the inventor of leaded gas:
I found it in here :

Leaded fuel is wonderful stuff. It will do no harm in a T, but it isn't needed. Model T engines, whether stock or near stock, run at very low stress and will accommodate low octane fuel quite well. Exhaust valve recession is not an issue with T engines except where the valve doesn't seat properly or is run with too much clearance for a very long...

I enjoy watching steam engines when operating. The local amusement park, Cedar Point, operates a coal fired steam trains that travel through the park. Cathy and I ride it whenever we go to the park.
At work we had two reciprocating steam engines that drove reciprocating air compressors. They were used when we had excess steam which was generated...

Well I finally did it. I bought myself a dirtbike. It’s an 01 Honda xr100r. It’s really clean for its age. The plastics are original and they look like they’ve never been touched by the sun. It came with a pro circuit exhaust, the powercore 4 to be exact. It also has a titanium pipe too. Everything works real good and the engine seems flawless. I...

That’s what I thought Pat. I don’t think you could ever find a 2001 dirtbike that’s been used of any make this clean. Thanks for the compliment.

When I bought my cabin, this was hanging on the wall. It was about half full of a red liquid that has turned clear as it has evaporated. The only opening to the air is at the top of the spout , and it is made of clear glass. My guess was it's some kind of old time barometer? There is such a wide and varied pool of knowledge on this forum, maybe...

Folks I just thought I would share something that may help some of you regarding shop lights.
When I had my shop wired, I used 18 recessed lights because the man had them for free that did my electrical and I could just screw in a bulb. I was afraid of florescent because the flashing might cause a seizure since i had some the night of my head...

i got the other 4 in this evening,I had to move a bunch of stuff to be able to get a ladder to the bulbs.
really made a difference.
i also put 1 of these little things in the socket above the wood stove.and all though it is tiny,it does move a good bit of air,I think it will help distribute heat this winter.
I made arrangements with the...

I figure that at least some among the Model T brethren must fool with antique bikes so I wanted to ask if anyone might have a high wheel that they would like to sell. I am currently looking for another bike, preferably a 54 inch wheel but I can ride a 56 or a 52. This is probably a long shot but I thought it worth asking.
Thanks and God Bless

Another 300+ miles logged in under 48 hours. Judging how she runs I don't see a problem as a speedster tow rig. Time to start thinking about the trailer. Some updated pictures.

Thank you Herb. That was very interesting. Now I know more about steam engines. Interestingly, (at least to me) is that Woburn Mass. We have been there. One of the founders of the city was Ezekiel Richardson who was a descendant of Rebecca Towne Nurse, who was hanged in the Salem Witch trials. He was also an ancestor of my wife Dolores.

Hi, further along with the Weaver 4 ton jack. The lift arm had a totally smashed Zerk fitting on it that I drilled out. The hole measures 1/4 inch with a micrometer but my 1/4 inch Zerk replacement is too loose to fit the hole. What should I do? Would filling with JB weld and drilling it then screwing another Zerk in work?

Hole measures 1/4 . Drill out & tap to fit 1/8 pipe thread. Common zerk.

When I was 5 to 7 yrs old, I had a wagon which was built by my grandfather. The wheels were wood with sheet metal wrapped around the diameter which served as a tire. The wagon didn't ride very well, but i didn't know it at a young age,
