Yep; you are right. I have built coils for both cars over the years and should have kept them straight. Or at least not have been too lazy to get up and check the tag on a Heinze box that I have on my coil shelves.

Further to Adrian's photo of the blue tudor, here is one of its stablemates.
The blue one had originally been a green colour (still visible under the blue and grey layers)
The red one was our choice of colour scheme as it had been painted with a broom when we found the body.
Both of these cars were built on the same day as the body numbers...

Here are the dimensions of the last two NOS nuts I have. They can be easily made.
Long: 1 1/2 X 7/16 X 1/4 . Short 1 X 7/16 X 1/4 . Both are threaded 1/4-20. Oval head slotted screws are used.

I rebuilt seven of these coils for my early '13. I used Lang's primary & secondary coils for regular standard coils, plus the new Heinze points. I made wooden housings to hold the windings inside the coils. They work quite well. Potted with tar when completed. They took a few settings over time to get the points to settle in as R.V. The Caddi doesn't look beyond repair... The Ford, on the other hand... well, it's just a Ford, throw it away and get a new one. Maybe even one of them new-fangled ones with the electric headlights... heard the price even went down on them. :mrgreen:

What fun it must have been. Two things I noticed, the front radius rod seems to go under the axle and the brake rod seems to be missing. Although the seat looks big to me the rear door post looks like a '09 or '10 T Touring.
The air pressure is probably just right for sand.

Not to nitpick something but to educate as expected with a C&C part. the term is CNC and stands for computer numerical control.
I just retired form 35 years of repairing them.

I’ve never worked much on Strombergs. I bought an LF a couple years ago to take apart and see what would entail, but I figured I’d clean it up and try it out first. I found it was missing one plug that made it run lean and pop, after fixing that I just ran it and never attempted to disassemble it completely.

I run this on my TT.

I cant remember the last time i didnt need to replace all 3 band springs with new lining. have them on hand. compare old to new. note how much shorter the old ones are - 1/8 to 3/8 typically. the problem is exaserbated with new, thick lining. they are only a buck a piece.

Its easy enough to machine that surface. prick marks go away & put any # you want. thats nothing compared to the cost of rebabbitting.

Would suppose black, can't tell for sure on the real 15th million, shown below, the upper outlet seems as cast, but was likely painted black, same with the lower inlet and the metal pipe, as those parts were added to the block last.

Heat the sleeve, it will expand and while it is hot, turn it, then oil it when it cools some.

Here are photos of the Frame and Engine Serial Numbers next to one another. It appears the 1 and 0 are of the same font of the small frame number stamp.

So this car could have been assembled post Model T production after May 1928, or more likely, it is really a 1926 Touring (without frame serial number) that was stamped with a replacement engine...

These last two give a little perspective to the Model T's we own.

The first is an 1898 De-Dion Bouton, which was started up and driven around today. Interesting to think this was built just two years after Henry Ford's Quadricyle, and a good ten years before the T:

Most blocks I have ever seen have the water inlet and serial number area ground to the same level.

I always suspected that was here the molten iron was poured in the mold and it had to be cut and polished after the block cooled.

I remember reading in a forum post a few years back that the metal body tags were Baudette bodies... The FIshers (and Ford) built bodies were stamped into the wood to the right of the floorboards. There were instructions when ordering body parts the dealers had to include body nimbers because of the differences between manufacturers...

Yes, connected in series..I did check them individually and connected. Ended up with 42 volts at the end. I always have good batteries on hand..Thanks..I have a MIG welder, but that is it.

I would guess the two outer carriage bolts would be 1 1/2 or 2 inches long to get through the pillar where the center two are maybe 3/4 inch long or so.

I had fits replacing the window channels on my 27 Tudor several years ago using the vendor kits. The kits include a foam strip for the top. My car had the same channel as the sides on the top. The car was originally restored in the early 70's. The safety glass used was just too thick to slide easily in the supplied channel. So, did some Google...

I had no idea that those battery boxes or lids existed until now. Mine didn't come with one for a 1922 body. I just put a piece of plywood down cut to fit according to a plan someone on the forum gave me and dropped the battery in.
