next to the gas output tube (on the lower tank pictured below and a little hard to see).

For small projects I have had great success with my powder spray torch using a nickel alloy powder. Big stuff like rear main bearing webs ripped out by a broken crank I send out to Lock N Stitch in Turlock. They are the best at what they do.

I would love to have lived in those days, when the horseless carriage was just becoming affordable.

That's general advice. Refer to Ford specs for specifics.

In my opinion, .003 is too tight for exhaust valves, and about right for intake.
For an engine that is expected to run at higher speeds and loads, such as a speedster engine or a TT engine, I'd go with .004 on intake and .006 on exhaust. New assemblies need some run-in time before running...

The Ghost has slipped into a self-sorting phase, where it tells me what it wants and needs. Very practical.

My quick guess would be it is a late teens or early 20's Gray-Dort assembled in Ontario from American Dort parts, Gray having no relation to the Gray engine maker. Here are some photos I pulled from Google and a little snippet of their history:

Jerry, I restored the column for my 1917 coupelet (May 1917), and it has a nickel gear case and cap. The quadrant, which is identical to my 1916 column, is painted black, and the spark and throttle rods are nickeled. The horn button remained on the top of the column as my 1916. Russ Furstnow

It’s supposed to be a modern design. I read a story about it one time saying that one of the judges or commissioners had a friend in the construction business and whatever went on resulted in the new courthouse. The first one was built in 1910, here is a picture of it being demolished in front of the new one in 1955.

Ford didn't offer a boot in 1923-25. I made one for my 1925 roadster, but didn't put the center common sense fastener in the middle for the strap.

If you run your engine within the normal T speed ranges at typical loading, standard heat range plugs should do fine.
If you have a stock ignition system, the plug gap probably needs to be standard or a little less.
An engine that runs at high speeds and loads might require a slightly cooler plug.

Frank, that is my car. The repairs to the block were done about 40 years ago and have caused no problems. The car ran fine. When crossing the Narrows Bridge, which is a 6 lane bridge, I pushed the car a little. I was told later I was doing 50 MPH. It would have gone faster with no problem but I thought I was going fast enough.

One of those three pins will often break out of the black plastic, if you open the back to discover or repair your problem.

That old, pressed paper back piece is actually stronger, which is some sort of a miracle.

Not sure what you have for a body but in scanning the internet for Army ambulances 1915-1930 I found none with a wood window frame above the hood line. This link is for a scale model WW1 ambulance with significant details that you might find useful in building yours. It also has a common cowl that appeared in many pictures

Harvey, forgive me if this sounds stupid, but was the difference between magneto headlights versus generator headlights not that the sockets for the bulb were 90deg. off between the two and that causes your filaments to be oriented vertical instead of horizontal ?

You guys must have been kissed by the fairies if painting over the top of that paintwork will work. We have nothing that know of which will last painted on over a suspect substrate like that shown in the photos. Something is going on under the black coat, and putting another coat over the top is not likely to fix that. There is something which is...

FYI- per the American standard screw thread standard, machine screws start with size 0 and a major diameter of 0.060 . each screw size adds .013 to the major diameter. EX: a # 2 machine screw has a major diameter of .060 + 2*.013 =.086

I worked on my Ruckstell axle again today. First press out both pipes on the housings. That went without a problem.
I made a split plate with a hole and welded it together to press it out.

To align it, I attached a plate to the housing and the outside, which gave me the alignment specifications when I put it together on...

I think that Runabout looks much happier reversed. I notice it has some changes from factory standard including the radiator cap, steering wheel, paint & a very nifty spare tire (tyre if its really RHD?) carrier that fits the lines of the turtledeck better than the standard one. I'd like to find one of those!

Austin- you said the screws would not stay tight . Something is wrong or you simply have not torqued the screws tight enough. Those screws MUST be tight enough to firmly clamp the plate to the magnets. You should not be able to move the plate after the screw is torqued. Pleas get someone knowledgeable to help you with this. Loctite is not the...

In fact, when I turn the ignition on, I have yet to hear a buzz. Once it starts turning over on the starter, it will make all four coils buzz and she starts up easily. And, not only do I not get an immediate buzz when the ignition is switched on, with the timing in full retard, I can move the timing lever at the steering wheel all the way down...

Attached is another photo. The item came from the estate of a man that not only had model t parts but many other items. I suspect this is a very old item but not for a model t, maybe farm related. The two parts are identical with part number 5464.5 cast in them near the larger bolt hole. The larger bolt hole in both are taped 5/16 coarse.

Here is a period version that came with the band spring compressor tool. When used together they make hogshead installation a lot easier. I just wish I could find one for a ‘26-‘27 style hogshead.

The gentleman, Brian from nhsnocar.com, builds repo parts for your Model T snowmobile. He was able to locate a set out for Canada for half of what I would need to charge. My chains are rated more for snow plows and heavy duty equipment. Maybe a little overkill for a 20hp 1500 lb car... :) .

Love the banana in the differential story, when I was in my teens that was always given as the way to quieten a diff if you wanted to sell it.
Like the kerosene instead of gas the Model T was obviously able to run on it but we never had Elephant fat for the motor, no wonder that Ford Model T was chosen for the trip obviously the best one...

Ruckstel and Model T brake lever on the same shaft. All levers are farther back than stock location. Ruckstel shifter goes through, Model T brake lever goes forward to actual cross shaft that is Model T brake/shift handle.

I suppose it would be useful for going up steep hills to get oil to the front of the engine. However, you would also need something to get the fuel to the front too. The 26-27 solved that problem by raising the gas tank, but still needed auxiliary oiler to get oil to the front.

I installed new linings on my 26 two years ago in June, they were pretty tight.. Then I just drove the thing... by mid July, they were a good fit. I do agree with checking how the edge of the drum matches up with the back plate. You might have to shim hub out a bit to get a better fit.

I wonder what the internal load resistance is? I'm sure it's a wound coil of some sort.

Adv for that type of cap to manage end-play.
