Kerry, soooo the -A maybe means American and the -C Canadian? Wouldn't be the first time such designations were used.

In most old photos of the three pedals (clutch, reverse and brake) they are even with eachother when in the up position. My brake pedal has never been even with the clutch and reverse pedals. In fact, it is about 2” lower. I assume this was from a heavy footed past driver with worn bands who had a difficult time stopping the T, so he stomped the...

Until we compare parts lists we can still only speculate parts crossovers but I truly believe we're going to have a few pieces at least and we're slowly making headway in that department.
I've still to pull the trigger on an M series parts list or two to start comaprisons. Thanks to Tim M we have a parts list for the 3/4 OF. OF-1?

Then when was the tall metal firewall first used?
Will the short metal firewall interchange with the 1923 wood firewall or work as a pattern for a 23 wood firewall?
Thank you.

Steel firewalls for 1917 - 1923 was not something where people adapted a 1923 - 1925 steel firewall - it was a regular Ford sparepart! It COULD have been added later as the wooden firewalls broke down, but it's there in my original danish Ford Sparepart catalog of 1931 just 8 years after 1923. What hardware is used to attach external sun visor to the A pillars?
There are 2 holes on each side.
Also, there are 7 holes for what must be wood screws into the top wood.
I tried searching visor here and at the vendor site. Ford Service has no entry in the index, nor does Ford Owner.

I believe that benzene, benzen, benzol, and similar words have been applied to gasoline. Naptha is similar to camp fuel or white gasoline and a Model T will run just fine on it. It is of low octane, and has a higher vapor pressure than good motor gasoline. Cold weather starting might require a richer mixture and more aggressive choking. Gasoline...

I just purchased a wire wheel from Facebook Marketplace. It has surface rust, nothing very deep. It would make a good wheel, expect for one little fact that the seller neglected to disclose. It has a huge crack all the way around, just inside the bolt holes!
So, now what do I do with it? I'm thinking it might make a decent spare wheel if fixed?...

I doubt a professional welder would touch that job. Now if it was the last wire wheel in the world that would be different. It could hold the car up while your wood wheels were being built.

After a quick review, vanadium is not used in leaf springs, but manganese is as well as some trace elements such as silicon. Carbon content at 4 to maybe .8 percent.

That Buzz Box will show you the coil is bad, if there is no spark at all.
It will not show you the random misfires, mostly caused by a bad capacitor.
So, it will fake a good coil for you, if nothing else.
The original capacitor is just about always bad and you can get sparks with it cut out of the circuit, but the points do not last very long....

I am changing the oil and flushing the engine with 2 qts. of motor flush. I removed the spark plugs in order to rapidly turn the engine over using the front crank, to mix the motor flush in with the oil before draining and adding the new 10w x 30w detergent oil. While I had the plugs out, I took pictures of the end of the plugs. They all have...

I will try from our Oct 1926 coupe. There is no interior yet.
There are different 26-27 rear and side constructions and I really need to see what style you have.
One of the best options will be to use a cardboard template by tracing the interior of the side windows.

Gents,
I have a non demountable ('14 front) with a slightly loose Felloe. Thinking of drilling the rim 24 times and placing screws through and into the Felloe.
Was thinking that if there was some kind of 2 part epoxy that was runny enough to squirt into the holes (with a syringe) it would improve the equation. Any ideas or thoughts
Thanks
Last post
I have fixed this problem like several of the others by using a roll of veneer from Lowes that has heat activated glue on one side. Use an iron to apply the veneer and hold it to the fellow. The heat from the rim will set the glue when shrunk onto the fellow. Truing the rim and installing the rivets finish the job.

In my opinion, having a replacement engine in a '14 T diminishes it's value, so allow for that if negotiations ensue.
If it is a $2000 heap, then mox nix, but if $12,000, then it's a problem.

Resurrecting a Green Engineering Equipped T Racing Engine

I'm looking for information about a 122 C.I. sleeved short block built in the period that has appears to have Green Engineering sleeves, a Green chrome-nickel timing gear, and a cam possibly re-ground by Green with 5/16 lift and different intake and exhaust profiles, and lightweight 1-3/4 racing valves.
These engines and parts were made available...

Found an article in the Motor Age December 12, 1918, issue showing the shape of an earlier Green Ford head combustion chamber design.
And a better photo of the bottom end.
The same crankshaft in an earlier Green catalog below.

In the latest Shorpy photo, there is a late model T and a Tudor A beside each other, parked in a street. Those cars are nearest to the camera, but lots of more modern machines there as well.

Great photo from that time. The Tudor is pretty neatly accessorized too.
Twin tail lamps, and lamp on the passenger front fender, perhaps one on the other side too for turn signals?
And that hooked on trailer hitch, probably not used much as the rear bumper bars are still straight :)

Paid Model T Experts to Do Car Inspection

First post
I've noticed a few cars of interest located out of state. I would not make a buy unless a full inspection was done by a Model T expert.
Do such experts exist for hire? If so, how would I find a person nearest the prospective car?
Last post
You might want to talk to local experts in your area before you travel. Tell them what you are interested in and have them go over the differences in the cars of your interest, most brass T guys that have been in the hobby for over 25 years have Bruces book, and other resources and can point out whats right or wrong.

Just pulled the head on my speedster. 30+ years since it ran. Wanted to see if I could 'unstick' a valve. No ridge, domed pistons, number two has negligible movement. Went to check number one and it dropped about 1/4 . Do you think this is too much to take up with removing shims? If it even has any. Regardless, I got the valve to start moving...

NH Carb conversion throttle linkage

I have found a few posts on this topic, but no clear answer to the problem. I am installing Lang's NH conversion kit and it appears the over-the-top throttle linkage is too short. Because this issue has came up before, I am surprised this hasn't been addressed by Lang's in the instructions. I can't help but wonder if the 2nd hole in the carb...

I recently opened up the throttle rod hole in a '27 block - there was actually an outline of the appropriate hole size cast into the valve side of the block - drilled a 5/8 hole and cleaned up the residual with a Dremel grinding wheel.

So I pulled the driver side regulator out of my 27 Coupe and I think I figured out why the glass fell to the bottom of the door. It looks like somebody did a homemade repair to it by brazing part of it in place. The shaft has a bunch of play in it, and it doesn't feel like there is any notch inside to grab the regulator teeth. My question is, can...

Going to retouch on one point made in a post above;
Make sure any shells used, the mating surfaces, are not worn. The shells rely on the roughness of the split halves to lock them together. The lock C ring is there more as a helper for installing them, not to keep them from moving back and forth.

Are the hinges interchangeable on a 1913 vs 1914 Frames? In other words, if I needed a Windshield for a 1914 but I have a 1913 Windshield, can I use the forward folding Windshield for the time being and then change-out the hinges to make it fold rearward when those are located without any other modifications to the existing Windshield Frame??

Thanks Mike for the meter and oscilloscope explanations. I hope that those who severely criticized me in December 2021 for suggesting that there are other means of properly setting coil have read this. There are other means just not as easy to use as the HCCT.
I am about ready to suggest a way to reduce oil leakage through the rear axle bearings....
