I have an early 1919 CLUM pin type ignition switch that I am working on.
It has the cast switch lever and the back plate which is made of composite layers of cardboard is separating and has burn marks at some of the terminals.
The back plate has the following stamped: 10072 CLUM MILWALKEE PAT APPL FOR

Hello everyone, hope you and your cars are all well.
I was replacing Lizzie’s Kingston carburetor with a new Holley NH as the old Kingston was flooding badly and I figured I would pull it out and rebuild it and in the meantime use the rebuilt NH and in the end I’d have a spare carburetor ready to go.
As I got the new carburetor in, I noticed...

Birdhaven is evidently getting a few of those parts back in stock.
They had that small bar wrench recently.
They are keeping a back order list for other parts that are becoming available a few at a time.
One of those popular parts was the Fun Projects Generator Voltage Regulator/Cutout and they recently got a few of those.

Hi.
I have recently purchased a 1925 T Model Tudor that was sold at Motorcar studio Atlanta in 2016.
I was shipped to Melbourne Australia.
I'm looking for the previous owner that would have the history of the car.
I'm enjoying the vehicle and still learning how to drive the car. It's a fantastic car to enjoy.
Any help would be greatly...

Beautiful Tudor! I’m sure you have thought of this, but I will suggest it anyway. The title should have the prior owner(s) name, the date sold/bought and the place of the sale. Even if it is a new title, with only the seller you bought it from, the seller on the title should have records in their files of the estate or person they obtained it from...

I stumbled on this cart, a near 10 minutes from my house on Craigslist. It was priced for weeks between. 100 and 200 bucks, and for what it seemed to be I thought that was a bit much. Vehicle transport is the same.
It’s just a larger package in the mail
so to speak.
Folks don’t realize that logistics dictate a full trailer goes down the road containing cargo that gets closer to the destination.
It makes sense from a shipping standpoint 🤔

I recently purchased a 25 Roadster Pickup. Here is a short walk around video of it. The fuel line is pinched flat and not routed correctly. Can someone show me pictures of how the fuel line should be routed? Here is a short walk around video of the pickup. More questions too follow, I am sure.

Hi all, Attached is the goal for Hay wagon to speedster project. It is not what I have right now. ;-) A local carpenter is going to do the running board as a board. Agree. I think I will have to slope the front edge a little for the front fender. I think I am going to do the 3/4 inch thick. I re-measured and the interior of a running board to the edge is 3/4 inch and the wood blocks from Lang's are 3/4 inch. It is only the lip width that is 1 inch.

When I picked up this early 1922 engine block at Chickasha it had a fair amount of dirt adhering to it. Once home a quick cleaning with a drill mounted wire brush revealed a “What do we have here?” blemish. Needless to say the next thing I did was flip the block over to see the damage.

An interesting example of why the casting dates and all those odd letters and numbers scattered around the block (and heads and other complicated castings). Some designated molds, others designate patterns which are basically a mold to make the mold. Patterns and molds can only be effectively used so many times before they have to be replaced....

So I've been doing some more reading about clutch fingers. When I put the transmission together I adjusted the clutch fingers so that the clutch spring (I used a new one) was 2 inches all the way around. Now I learn that there is also a 3/4 inch measurement taken under the clutch spring as well. Would this be 3/4 if the spring is at 2 inches?

Yes, twist to lock the rectangular slots or notches against the flat flange of the headlamp bucket. The circular spring fingers provide tension to the reflector with its rope gasket to push against the rim and lens to prevent rattling or lost.

The good news is: one wheel is done I think. Does the split have to be perfectly together? See photo.

The bad news is: the second rim is kinked at the split so that the wheel just doesn't fit. How can I get it back to round?

I have about 3 and a half wheels now. A working rim spreader arrived in the mail just in time Friday to replace my broken one. That was very fortunate. I changed to MAPP gas to heat and free the remaining galvanized locks. The first wheel was not straightened and is slightly kinked. The second one was the worst of the bunch. I straightened it as...

Ruckstell Left Hand Mount Shifter

I have a Model T project underway and need a left hand shifter on the Ruckstell.
A couple of questions:
1) Does the kit the vendors sell completely replace the normal shifter that attaches to the back of the transmission?
2) Would it be possible to modify the left hand shifting kit to move the shift handle further outboard?
This shifter will be...
Last post
In our RHD cars, the standard shifter is left handed anyway but it is still not much help because the throttle lever is also on the left of the steering quadrant. Rather than make up a RH shifter with all its complications, I added a foot throttle. Dead easy on a RHD car, but a little more complicated on a LHD.

Hello,
I have had my 1930 Tudor for several years and I am planning to purchase a 1914 Touring car. I found a really nice one that has been basically restored to the way it came from the factory. This is good and bad because it has no brake lights, no Rocky Mountain brakes....etc.....
Here is my question. I am sure this would make a great show...

I just bought a 1914 Touring that was a neglected older restoration. The last few months have been spent working it up to be a tour car, there is still much left to do!
I recommend the Ruckstell & outside brakes even if you live in flatland. There are many times that I just drive in Ruckstell high rather than Ford high. Its perfect for quiet...

And finally, where is the can mounted on a 26/27?

The tool retracts the rim at the closure to assist in mounting the tire to the rim - after tire installation, re-setting the legs in a different configuration results in one jacking the rim closed again to secure the latch.
I see. these are for split rims. My car has non-demount-able rims on it. I just use a pair of very long tire irons.

I have used the hot oil method to put bearings and gears on shafts. (best done in well ventilated area or outside) Using a hot plate heat motor oil up with the gear or bearing submerged on something so it is not touching the bottom of the container you are using. You want the item to be facing the correct direction so when removed from hot oil it...
