Usually there is not enough thread length on the spindle to run the outer bearing up to the race. This is the case when converting to A front hubs. So either put a huge spacer behind the inner bearing... scary!!! Or extend the thread and register diameter long enough to fit, and...

I don't use the felt seal but do use the side gaskets with Ultra-Black. I use a bead of Ultra-Black in place of the felt. I also wipe the gasket surfaces with oil to leave a slight film so the parts will come apart.

The block I'm re-building at the moment, all 8 are cast iron valve guides pressed in and then reamed to what ever valve stem size being used.

Here is open car, factory route, the gas line tucks under the exhaust pipe for only a very short length, no need to wrap.

Plenty of cooling air travels thru those spaces when on the road.

That patent in 1922 may only have been an improvement on existing art of past mechanical locking means.

But as the earlier post, lock washers have been around for over a 100 years, found one ref in 1904, this offering in Motor 1906 shows pretty much today's lock washers. Ford used them in many places early on.

With competition from another supplier prepared to have tyres made to higher specifications, we might finally get something of merchantable quality. R.V. has nailed the process very well. The only thing I would add is to establish a rather permanent centre line along the body. This is needed when adding door jambs and other vertical pieces, to keep each side symetrical about the centre line.

Re gluing the joints. Once you have the doors fitting the gaps in the body, I suggest you work glue...

Just for the Center Door owners, like myself, watch at 1:30 point in the video. A rolled over Center Door. Pretty impressive image. Shows how strong the windshield and roof actually are. Surprisingly little damage for a roll over.

I used it back in the 50's when I worked in a gas station and the lead mechanic and I invested in back row used cars. We would buy cars from two dealers that they would put into a back row and didn't want to spend time with them but sell newer...

If either tank needs lining some radiator shops do an excellent job. They will hot tank your fuel tank, then apply an ethanol resistant liner compound. They may cut a couple holes to inspect for complete coating then seal the holes. We have a shop in Huntsville AL that does this.

On the old forum we had to resize the pictures down to a smaller size. I can still post the same pictures here and you can not click on them but if I post the original larger picture you can click and see it full size. I think in this case size matters.

Buster's car is a parts salad. Some 15-16, some 14 or earlier.

Now remember to take those wheels off once a year so you dont have this problem again. You should examine your axles and clean n regrease your bearings every year.

Like the original assembly, tin/lead solder and rivets are just fine. Very simple, inexpensive, permanent and long lasting

Mark, yes single contact ,think it was Langs # 6H-20 , 6v 20 watt. No markings as the halogen is potted in ceramic, and I thru away the package.
My guess is its one of the 120 lumen type, or approx. 12 candle power?
Lang's doesn't list C.P. It was a bunch brighter than the typical incandescent #63 tail...

Wayne that is what I do not know each end of that brace has two small holes and it is kind o vee-ed at the end where the bolts are the other two brackets match up to the body at the and frame at the front and match up with the holes in the fender and it could be an brace that does not even go with this car as there is only one of them.

Bruce, you say your car is not a show car. If you have de-mountables and a spare they should be all the same size. Then your best bet is to just get 5 more 30 x 3 1/2 inch tires. Leave the 30 x 3 for the show cars. If all your tires are the same you can rotate them like a modern car. You should be taking them off every year anyways so you can...
