Yes, the '25s are almost a creature unto themselves. And yes, Henry did not like to talk about Year Models as he disliked the idea that you would be goaded into buying a new car just because of a year model change--but the T did change over time, and the changes USUALLY occurred a bit after the middle of a calendar year. Back about 40 years ago,...

When I became interested in the family 1926 model TT in 2018 I searched for Model T tools online because I figured we had some laying around, and I just did not know what to look for. I came across the Walker Jack Company of Racine Wis. as a maker of jacks for Model T’s. After seeing a picture of a Walker Ratchet Jack I immediately recognized it...

If you google.maps Racine, WI you can see where Walker mfg used to be. Go to the Pugh Marina and look north, west of the Racine yacht club, and you will see all the squares of concrete where the factory was located.

I'm currently working on restoring pretty much every part of my 23 runabout all at the same time. The steering column parts are being re-nickled and I got to thinking, what paint should I use on the steering column quadrant? I know it was originally black, but paint scratches off quickly from the levers moving on it and was wondering what you have...

You probably won't want to go to this extreme, but bare in mind that the throttle and spark levers are held against the quadrant by spring tension. If you don't have a water pump your fan belt would most likely be a 23 inch but as you said, measuring it is best. You can also choose from leather or more modern material to replace it.

How to install a '26 Runabout windshield seal

The rubber seal on my windshield post has worked its way out of the groove. It's strange since the car has mostly sat in the barn for months. I'm having a hard time getting it back into the groove and I could use some guidance. The seal is the one shown in the photo (arrow).
Windshield seal.gif
Should I use soapy water or WD-40 as a lubricant?...
Last post
Best way is loosen the stanchion bolts, remove the windshield frames for best access.
Then remove the seals, clean the channel to remove any obstruction for full seat of the seals. I would get new seals too. Then rub the edge of the seal that goes in the channel with Silglide or any silicone paste. with that lube easy to pull the seal into place.

Other that the extra extensions that were welded to the front, longer rear crossmember, and the possibly the brake quadrant, is there any differences in a 1926 frame from earlier ones?

I do know if you waddle over to a 26 frame with a 25 splash apron you will find the rear mounting hole for the apron to be 2 3/4 inchs further back on the 26 chassis. Stewart Warner Model 490 Cable Suggestions
by
ModelTWoods » Wed May 13, 2020 4:56 pm
The Stewart Warner Model 490 speedometer was made with two different types of attachments for the cable to speedo head. The early (1926) just jammed the end of the cable in a hole in the head and the cable was held in by a retaining bracket and a screw in the head. The later (1927) type used a ferrule on each end of the cable to secure the cable....

Did Muncie make a aux trans for a T that doesn't have overdrive? My friend just installed a Muncie in his pickup and it seems to have super under, under and direct. I have never run into this before. I am thinking maybe built for a TT.
Last post
Very interesting. I have a TT with a Muncie, but it's the more traditional under/direct/over/reverse set up.
Being a TT guy, I can't help but wonder - If you install this super under/under/direct Muncie in a TT with low speed rear end gears and a Ruckstell, then set it in Ford low/Muncie super under/Ruckstell under would it even move?

I’m still working the 1909, today I managed to get all four wheels mounted. They still don’t have rubber and are still unpainted but now I know most things fit.
Notice “most”. The rear hubs are too large for the hub caps. I tried later hub caps and they don’t fit and the 09 hub caps fit the later wheels I had been using. So the problem is the...

This is the support I have in my 1920 touring to hold the seat up.

Here is the lack of support in a friends 1919 touring.
Was there a change? Different manufacturer of body? Why does the 1920 have a support and the 1919 does not?

It would be nice if more people will let us know, pictures if possible, what you have under your rear seat to support the seat itself.

I have located a couple of articles and consulted the MTFCA Carburetor book and cannot determine the proper setting for the float. One says one inch, another says 15/16'. Neither specifically mentions how or where to measure (e.g., from the machined surface to the float top; from the surface of the body to the seam of the float. ) I don't know the...
Last post
It is convenient to use a 7/16 drill bit, if you have one. Also, make sure the float is level with the machined surface at that gap. If the float is angled in any way, the setting will be off.

I got rid of much of the 'slop' in my steering ('24 RPU), but still have quite a bit in the steering column, before the pitman arm even starts to move. I am in the process of installing new wood in a '15 Runabout body, which is something that I've never done before. I bought a new wood kit from Cubel's. Don't wait till it's that hot! Warm yes, at 90 in bright sun light the material is going to stretch more then you want. Plus it's bloody hot standing over that black material. Do yourself a favor, nice warm day, work in the shade.

My 1909 Touring doors have footman loops that were part of the original check strap assemblies. I would fill the hole with solder, unless it is now just out of site below the rim.
It's full of solder. The black is just some carbon powder around the cable. I pulled on it, and it seems tight. I now must figure how to install the other connector so the length is correct for the cable housing. It uses a set screw.
