It’s been too hot to paint, so I took a little side job this past week. Started with a bare frame, running board brackets and a speedster kit a customer wanted setup. I have an original ? 8 valve Rajo head, single spark plug, and carb heat port, system for my 26 T.
Building the engine and have not been able to find information about this head and if it is a higher compression head on a standard flat top piston.

Can anyone give me some information about this?

Christmas Eve model T ride in the touring. Went out in the neighborhood with my boys, niece and nephew in 26 degree weather in Houston Texas. My son had Christmas carol boom box on. Great time was had by all. Thanks to all who helped get and keep my model T's running for times such as this.

I had to work on the transmission of my car, and decided to check the engine.
I checked the pistons, and cleaned the rings, without removing them. I opened the holes in the piston skirt.
The cylinders were looking good, and I did a rapid honing with a 3 stone tool.

Since restart, the engine is smoking and consuming oil like hell !

I see the reproduction TT rear axle outer bearing sleeves available from the usual vendors are described as not having a dimple or grease cup hole, so my question is how are people making that work? I do not see myself easily drilling a hole in a hardened sleeve, and adding a dimple is impossible.

1926 Coupe gas tank, suggestions on sealing. Seems solid, no leaks, can see some rust inside, overflow tube works without leaks. Thanks.

Here's my stupid question for the day: how can I tell if the bands are lined with cotton or Kevlar?

I recently installed a period style battery box in the 1915. Not much info available, so it's mostly guesstimates.

A wood box from a craft store is attached to a wood insert on the rear seat floor. Battery wires pass through drilled holes in the box, wood insert and the reproduction seat pan that came with the car. Cloth wires and flag terminals...

I stripped out repro lug nuts on my '26 wire wheels. Seems lug nuts are some kind of stainless non magnetic alloy that is soft and strips easily. Chrome plating flakes off too, resulting from a very poor plating job.
Nuts stripped out and would not tighten down. Failed at about 30 ft/lbs torque.
Good thing the stud is harder and better quality...

Back in the 1960's my mother and father started out Bob's Antique Auto Parts
they sold Model T and Model A Ford parts in this time my father found a original dealers' catalog for the 1929 The New Ford about the cars and trucks, he wrote Ford Motor company and got permission to re print this large leather like covered book.

It was called a '12 but I don't see much evidence of early parts. I haven't seen it in person. These are his photos.

I purchased this split-rim wheel from a local auction, thinking it was probably for a Model TT given the 1/2 wide dual key slots. The wheel measure 23 in diameter and the rim 2 . The hubs are 6 in diameter and appear threaded for a Model T hub cover.
Any ideas? Rarity/Vaue?

How hard is it to install a Ruckstell with only removing the left axle housing? How do you deal with the spring tension? Isn't that the way they did it in the 20's?

One of our club members brought his '17 Runabout to our lunch cruise. We've seen his wheels before but never paid that much attention to them. Look close at what seems like dual-felloes ...outside is different from inside the fellow and we've never seen this style.

who has a good reference to the early engine pans. I have several early ones and I want to know the years used. One is a 3 rivet (front piece).

I must be having a mental block - I have an early ignition switch assembly that is missing its ammeter. I do have a smaller improved car ammeter, so I bought one of those adapter rings that the vendors offer. The adapter ring came with new attaching screws and nuts.

Problem is, I can't figure out how everything goes together, is there a retaining...

Both the Parts for sale and the discussion seem to be slowing down again. Anyone else having trouble? Its certainly not as bad as last weekend.

Someone on the Facebook page is asking what this is for, was sleeved around one axle shaft. I got one awhile ago in an estate sale with a bunch of parts. One suggestion was an oil screw. I could see this as a possibility for use with the solid Hyatt rolloers

I find that if I use reverse and back up to the site, it loads better.

I was at a car show with my 26 roadster and a guy with modern iron (50''s muscle car) said he had a set of split rims like the ones on my car and asked i I wanted them. I went over after the show and got them, but they aren't Model T. Any idea what they are? The tires on them were 4.75 - 19, so I think that means 19 inch rims?????

When I serviced the rear axle seals and bearings I got a better look at the rear brakes. I had to pull things apart due to grease and oil on the brake pads. Both sides were a little different in how the linkage was put together. I looked around on the internet for some pictures on how the linkage should go but I didn't find any pictures that...

How do I remove a stubborn driveshaft stuck in the coupling connecting it to the worm? I removed the U-joint, driveshaft tube, and the two rivets in the driveshaft to worm coupling, but I cannot get a good enough grip to pull the driveshaft out of the coupling, or the coupling from the worm. Do I need a puller? Should I put the U-joint back on and...

Joy and I enjoyed a beautiful day at the car show yesterday. The show is always evolving with great vehicles but fewer antiques. Another show a couple of miles away got some of our club's other cars. Here are some other Ts that were there. My '09 was possibly more original. :lol:

I have had this carburetor on the car for 2,000 trouble free miles. I had to pull the engine for transmission work. When I re-attached the fuel line, gas began leaking from the throat. I checked the float height and is 1/4'' from the float to the edge of the carburetor (with no gasket in place). I am thinking that it is the fuel float valve that...

I noticed grease on my brake drums so I decided to pull a wheel and see what the seals looked like. A previous owner installed what looks like the neoprene seals. Both brake drums appear to have grease on them. Has anyone just changed the O rings and seals in these or will I need to buy a new set?

Included are photos of the accessory Kirstin Gage (dash mount). The parts catalogue spells it Kirston . The accessory literature describes it as either air pressure or float. This unit looks like air pressure.
Anyone have any experience with this type of gauge and it's operation?

Are engines without generator or starter castings worth less than later engines? It is an unrestored one that may have been used with farm equipment so I don't really know condition other than it is too heavy for a boat anchor but turns over nicely.

Rebult rear end with new thrust washers,

I only own one Model T but thru our club I have worked on roughly a dozen cars - most bought by people new to Model T's. A few problems have come up over and over again, to the point where I would tell any buyer to expect to have to deal with at least some of them, sometimes at substantial cost....

I found a small shop making 1 off brass parts for an antique car, but the parts were expensive! The shop can make the brass gas generators and Holly G brass carburetor bowls. I have access to these 4 gas generators Victor, Cocran, E & J, and John Brown and a steel Holly G bowl that he could use as templates. I will have nothing to do with sales....
