It arrived today and I was looking it over close, I see that the air damper thing is spring loaded. From prior forums, it appears...

What Mark said is how to do and old fashion search for pre 2019 topics. Unless you know the exact title of the posting and date, you will have to wade thru what comes up.

I am new to the MTFCA forum and I am trying to search for information that is likely already posted in the past, like, Checking out an engine . The results are returning with matches for checking, rather than looking for the entire phrase. I've tried using quotes around the entire phrase as well, but no change in the results. What am I doing wrong?

is aviation gas 100LL acceptable to use in a Model T fords? 100 meaning obtain and LL meaning low lead. I understand it has a longer life span than todays pump gas. also is it radially available at smaller airports? in advance thanks for your help,
Last post
Yes, your T will run on 100LL. Your exhaust will smell different and you may have to run more spark advance due to the lower burn rate. Your spark plugs will foul faster and your exhaust system will corrode eventually due to lead deposits. Think back to spark plug and exhaust system life on cars from the 1960s.
Your wallet will certainly be...

The old software made issues for the hosting company when the Forum became to big. Hence it's splitting up per year.
The current Forum software is one of te mainstream forum software that do not have that issue, so I asume it just continue. That will also make searching and picking up old threads easier/possible.

I use a IPad when I browse the internet.
Lately I notice sometimes when I select a post, it brings up a new little window, with the very first post and the last post. Cool, but it doesn’t happen for me all the time.
I am sure it’s something to do with a double click, or hovering over for awhile, but I don’t know what it is.

Looks like we have a new spammer! Richard 1220 is posting about computer/ other apps in the past couple minutes. So far a video producing app and something about springpads that has nothing to do with model T front or rear springs.
Best to not open them as that gives them a viewed count that keeps them coming back.

Pay me no mind, unless some detail I mention can help you. Take your time about the switch and issues. Do not stress about it. We can wait (whether some of we understand that or not!). You all are doing a wonderful (and quite difficult) job!
For whatever it is worth. About two weeks ago, I went to reread a past year's (2018 I think) posting, and...

PM not leaving outbox

The PMs I reply to do not leave the outbox. They seem to be stuck there and do not progress to the sent box.
Last post
They stay in the out box till they are picked up by the person you sent it to. That way you know the receiver got it. If it is in the out box it has been sent.

Night of July 5 to 6?

Was the forum down for awhile last night? I was distracted while writing a reply to a post, when I got back to it and tried to post it, all I got was a spinning wheel. I opened another tab, tried to access the forum, and could not. I waited about ten minutes and tried again. Another wait, and tried again. Still no go so I then copied the reply...

I see my reply did in fact post last night! I couldn't bring the site up to verify that, so that was why I saved it elsewhere. I hope my several attempts to post it didn't cause you much trouble.
Again, thanks for all you do!

some topics divided into pages

I am not very computer literate and you are doing a fabulous job. My question is there any way some topics could automatically break down into pages 1 2 3 after about 15 or 20 posts?. An example would be the Foot of the day. I enjoy it but hate to scroll and scroll to get to new items.
Later on I will find out how to resize pictures for posting....

I had wondered about that 100 posts-add-a-page, however, I find it to be a good amount. I am stuck on a barely a DSL connection, haven't been able to view hardly anything on Facebook for several years now because the download almost always crashes before it can be opened. A lot of other glitzy sites with dancing goo-gaws will not load for me...

I seem to remember when I registered on this new site there was a page that explained the icons shown alongside the topic headings (y'know, those things that turn blue when you're read them), but I'll be danged if I can find it now.. I can pretty much work out what most of them are, but what's the one with the flame in it?

The flame is a hot topic!!

You can still access posts on the previous Forums by clicking on MTFCA Forums, selecting 2018 Forum and working your way back or performing a search.
Here is a quick link to Jay's index of his Accessory of the Day posts.

Finally got my 27 running ... BUT ... It runs a few seconds on full choke & then dies.
Gas line is clean, Gas tank has a breather (Loosen) & more than 5 gallons of gas, Air is unobstructed, Car is on a new Battery alone.
Any ideas? Suggestions?

You need to post this on the general discussion area. Nobody gonna see it here.
Tell us what kind of carb you're running, battery or mag...etc.

I have been trying everything I can think of to get a photo to post. Every time a picture loads (no matter the size or name) I get a caution triangle with a ! on it. I have resized them and renamed them and nothing seems to work. They are simple jpg files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get the same thing.

Member Posting: Vehicle Wanted

Hi, I presume when posting for a vehicle wanted it should go in the vehicles for sale. I cannot figure out how to post my add for 1920-1925 Open Car, so I placed it in the classifieds. Can you tell me what I need to do to post in the Vehicles for sale?
Last post
I would put it in the parts classifieds. Non members have to ask to make a posting in the car for sale section or they have to send a PM/Email if they have what you are looking for.

The Classified Vehicles list seems to be broken. While you can still respond to old listings the section seems to have lost it's link to allow new postings.
The most recent new posting was about May 9. I want to post a new for sale and cannot. I have noticed that some folks have posted cars for sale in other lists. Is the Webmaster aware that hte...

Guys (and or gals) two things that are really annoying, pictures posted sideways and upside down and videos with wind noise. Let's all try harder.

Hal, let's make sure and mention those who don't know the difference between breaks and brakes. That drive me nuts.

I shoot with a camera, not a phone, but even it sometimes gets confused and sends the wrong message to the forum software and the picture shows up sideways in the preview. When this happens I open the picture file on my computer, rotate the photo 90º left, then 90º right, then hit Save . So far this has always made the picture post correctly on...

I post with an iPhone and have the same issue for about 2 months. Right about the time they were having problems with hackers. Prior to that, every picture posted right side up. Something must have changed in the forum software. Also have had to log in very frequently, sometimes twice a day. That seemed to start about the same time.
Would be most...

Also if you use the link at the bottom of the page
Return to “Forum Support Questions”
the icons should display properly.
