Twenty + years ago I turned on my supervisor to the red green show( he was from South Carolina & had never heard of it) I asked him on Monday
if he had watched it? He said from where I come from that is a documentary not a sitcom.
Craig.

While walking my dog she was startled by this pine needle suspended 4 ft above the sidewalk. The spider web holding it coming from the overhead power line. If that spider is fishing for humans she is using the wrong bait!

Re: Some Humor to Brighten Your Day II
It has occurred to me that we may need to update our lexicon of cliches. For example saying that a person doesn't know S#@t from shineola no longer makes sense because no one shines anything anymore. So maybe we should change it to they don't know S@#t from Lip Balm. Use your head for something other than a hat rack they might ask you "what the heck is a hat rack, So maybe we should change it to use your cranial cavity dweller for something other than a hoodie holder. and they don't understand " It's hard to remember your objective was to drain the swamp when you are up to your but in alligators". So we have to put it into modern context It is difficult to explain why you wanted to repurpose the mud bogs when prehistoric reptiles with teeth are nibbling at your bottom. Last My Fathers favorite cliche Buy them Books, send them to school and they come home with pink underwear... no maybe we can leave that one alone it still works just a different connotation.
Do it right or do it over, your choice. Drive like everyone is out to get you!

Exactly! The well water is pure with all the minerals in it, but the tap water and bottled water all tastes like Clorox.

Trying to be a smart Alec, I looked up "Antenna" on Google Maps, just in case there was such a place. What I found instead, was that there are still dozens of places that still sell and service residential, rooftop TV antennas! Going to look for buggy whip shops next...

Re: Some Humor to Brighten Your Day II
I have one on my house, but no longer use it. It's at least 50 years old. My parents bought it when we lived in Detroit, then actually took it off the house when we moved and took it off again when we moved to the third house. It's the one that's still on the house. I have never understood what extreme value they placed on that antenna to go to the thankless and dangerous task of removing and re-installing it! It's one of those powered antennas that you can rotate to different compass points, to get better reception. After all of those years outdoors, it still works!

There's a lot to be said for that nowadays with everything being a fancy computer. Something that is simple, cheap works, and easy to operate... so much for progress.. The humble model t can teach us all a lot.Herb Iffrig wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 5:45 pmJerry I think you answered the question. Because it still works.

Re: Some Humor to Brighten Your Day II
Many folks are “cutting the cord” on cable TV due to its increasing costs. I did a couple of years ago. I currently use an indoor antenna and used to pick up most stations between Lansing and Detroit. When we had new windows installed a couple weeks months ago it cut us down to Lansing only (I assume the “E-coating” that blocks infrared radiation also blocks TV signals).Jerry VanOoteghem wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 11:37 amTrying to be a smart Alec, I looked up "Antenna" on Google Maps, just in case there was such a place. Jerry, your 50-year old antenna itself is probably not capable of receiving digital TV, but the mount and rotator could probably be made to work with a new antenna. I’ve thought about an outside antenna, but I’m not sure I even want to know how much it would cost.

Re: Some Humor to Brighten Your Day II
I put my digital outdoor antenna on my 1955 RCA automatic antenna rotator, then mounted the whole thing to my chimney I can now pick up channels from Orlando to Savannah. I am told that if I buy a signal booster I could get even more cities. I haven't had cable since 2007 think of all the money I have saved!

What's the difference between an alligator, and a crocodile?
The alligator, you'll see later.
The crocodile, you'll see in a while.

Socialism is resentment disguised as compassion enforced by tyranny disguised as tolerance.

Good stuff!
Is typed OK? Can't make this up, it was just a few days ago.
A Hypocrite:
Taking a small piece of cake, barking about too much frosting and peeling it off.
Eating the cake (which was good!) then scraping the frosting off the plate and eating it over the next 15 minutes.

Not exactly the same, but it reminds me of a couple, now long past, who were attending the opening banquet of a Model T tour. While our table had eaten, as it sometimes happens, the event ran out of food before everyone else was fed. The couple stated, "That sure was some terrible food, and the worst part is, you can't even have seconds." They were not trying to be funny, which made it all the more hilarious! (Not making fun of them here. They were good friends, but still, hilarious.)
