Post by RichardG » Tue Jul 21, 2020 9:29 pm

MY SON IN LAW GAVE ME THE MASCOTS, THEY WERE IN HIS GRANDMOTHERS CELLAR, HE DIED FROM A FALL BE FOR I COULD FIND OUT MUCH ABOUT THEM, THE GOLD ONE WAS IN BAD SHAPE, I RESTORED IT AS CLOSE TO ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE, AND FOUND IT ADORNED A 27 BUICK RADIATOR,--THE LION I HAVE LOOKED AT HUNDREDS ,AND THE ONE THAT COMES CLOSE IS THE FRANKLIN, BUT NO SHIELD, CAN ANY ONE IN T LAND TELL ME WHERE IT BELONGS, SO I CAN GET BACK A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP. THANK YOU, AND GOOD LUCK.

A look at the lion's shield may help? It may be one of Peugeot's lions, or a special art piece maybe for Peugeot or ?

Wayne, many others have said the same, but in looking at hundreds of lion mascots, the detailing is not close to any peugeot, the shield makes it stand out, the Franklin lion is very close in detail, and stance, thank you for helping, i cant have the only one, the mascots came from a family that lived in Springfield Vermont, another reason I'm thinking Franklin rather than Peugeot,

That lion looks like one on many family crests, perhaps they had the lion custom made to match their family crest.

Another way to look at it is if you use it you'll have the first known automotive "bug shield"

NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT USE PERRY, BUT ITS TOO HEAVY FOR THE ---T---RADIATOR, IT WEIGHS AS MUCH AS THE T RAD. STRANGE THAT THEY WOULD GO TO THE TROUBLE TO HAVE THIS CAST AND NOT PUT THE NAME SOMEWHERE, OH WELL, TIME TO PUT IT ON THE SHELF AND WOUNDER, THANK YOU FOR YOUR THOUGHTS.
