Mechanics at work-Old Photos

Post by Herb Iffrig » Wed Nov 25, 2020 5:46 pm

I think it is a fun thing to look into some of these old garages. Some of the photos I will put up have been posted before, but I will try to congregate them here.

Absolutely Delightful. The JB photos make me want to jump in them and go to work. Perhaps climbing those stairs one would find all sorts of parts for repairs.
The last photo may be a 1907 REO 2-cyl.
I am Thankful for these.

That's a great shop with the 1916 T.
My guess is a 1917 or 18 New York plate or perhaps Maryland.
When did I do that?

By gum, if this guy doesn't have the right size shoe for your horse's hooves, something else pulls your wagon.

Those last three pictures are cool, probably a Canadian motor fieldrepair depot during the second half of WorldWar 1, the Model T ambulances are 1916 or later and are the British standard pattern and have British War department number plates with the 'broad arrow', the campaign hats in the second photo suggest american or canadian troops.
In the last picture, would that mechanic be checking that pumpkin for babbit thrust bearings
Thanks for these !

WoW! Herb. That's another great one. Wouldn't we all want that early T. But the car next to it is pretty swell too. Reminds me of an EMF but probably not.
Thanks
Rich
