Hehehe! Cats are like little kids aren't they? Give 'em a new toy and they play with the box.
These loving little morons (cats, not the grand kids) have such a grand time with a cardboard box. And it ends up across the room!
When did ya last hear of a box being called a pasteboard box... That's what my brain asked.
I have two little morons, right now, sleeping away in... pasteboard boxes.
:)

Put a piece of your clothing in the new one and they will love it!

Keep it simple and keep a good junk pile if you want to invent something :P

We actually did that before you posted. Roger is a believer, Sweetpea isn't convinced.

Au contraire Burger. How can they not? ;)
When we sneak up on them, startle them and see them stick to the ceiling just like the old cartoons!
Fatser than we can almost see!
I grab these little morons to keep them pulling a mess over their heads and it's nothing but a little muscle mass.
Little morons.
Thankfully, they like me. :)
The antique, wood-burning cat here used to tell me "I'll gut you like a fish." Darn near did too. Many times.
Cats are pretty clean but their claws are filthy dirty and their marks turn red quick.

I saw a post once on Bengal Tigers. They gave them some appliance boxes, and the next pic was of the tigers each sitting inside their boxes. It must be a feline affinity for corrugated cardboard.

And when I'm working on the car, my cat "Dipstick" is always right there, keeping an eye on me. He follows me around like a dog

It doesn't matter how nice a basket you make for them, they always find your favorite spot the best...
