Another "tough" ID

Post by Rich Bingham » Sun May 23, 2021 6:07 pm

Horse obscuring the front end makes it hard to tell the he make and year. No date on the photo. I thought it was interesting as you seldom see period photos of automobiles that include horses. Another horse in the picture makes it hard to see the driver.

I confess I looked at several photos before I picked up my Buick book. I believe the car behind the horses is a 1913 Model 31 Buick.

The horse does obscure most of the vital clues. The boot scrapes on the running boards seem to match as well as the little moulding between the center on the rear door bead and the rear fender. Also, the Buick Gray body is one of the fewer light colors for those years. This was Buick's medium-sized car with 108" wheelbase and 32 h.p. engine. The Model 25 is very similar too.
Nice stumper and a delightful photo.
Thanks
Rich

Good call, Rich !! No doubt about it.
Hmmm. The Buick is obscuring a Studebaker, pulled up on the other side. You can only see one rear wheel !

Thanks Perry. After doing further research I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, the cars are all facing the same direction, which is Forward. Perhaps one of the camera operators was taking the photo using his left hand.
As always,
Rich

Zoom in and check out the shit eating grin on the two in the background on a buggy. Gotta wonder what that was about?

The couple in the buggy don't think they're in the picture ! Maybe laughing at the cery serious old boy driving the Buick who doesn't seem to be aware of their horse ??

If you look close at the young lady in the back seat facing the camera, you can just see two more people on the other side of her. They look to be have a conversation with the couple in the "Sears Catalog" ordered buggy. :D
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!
