Before Coupes wasn't all that long. They were around from almost the start.

Most had very elegant styling and appointments.

When did I do that?

I posted that title kind of tongue in cheek, realizing the '09-'10 catalogues showed coupe bodies on Model Ts. I'm not sure when they re-appeared, but I know for a fact there was no 1913 Ford coupe available for the good doctor to purchase, had he actually wanted one.

I really don't know how the "doctor's coupe" thing got started. It wasn't too long ago I posted an old photo of a Blackfoot, Idaho doctor in his R or S runabout. This photo is from Ashton, Idaho historic files, maybe Idaho medical men were staunch believers in the benefits of fresh air ??

Rich, thanks for that photo parade of early coupes !! Enjoyable to see !

Doctor's coupe, opera coupe... I've heard these terms for years, but I've never heard or read why they are associated.

There was a Ford ad done back in the day showing a doctor making a late house call getting out of a T Coupe. Look like a 24/25 I think. Ad says something like it is perfect car for a doctor. That is where I think that term Doctors Coupe came from.
I am sure someone will post it shortly.
