Looks like a Gilpin Tramway locomotive, that served the many mines
in the hills around Blackhawk and Central City, Colorado. The line was
two-foot gauge and the equipment tiny, but there really was no better
way to get supplies up to the mines and ore down to the more conventional
three-foot gauge Colorado Central, that connected to Denver.

Looks like a Shay locomotive. Geared drive line. Primary uses were mines and logging. Being in Michigan we had plenty of both
