How do you protect your woodwork?

Hi Guys off topic this time, I recently purchased a 1951 Rover 75 P4 know as a "Cyclops" for obvious reasons. Previous owner has passed away and had it for 60 years and it was always garaged. The interior woodwork is great and I want to keep it that way. Sun exposer when out and about is my main concern.
What do you suggest?

Thanks

I just clean mine with soap and water. There are dozens of commercial products for dashes out there. A good furniture polish would work too.
Others may share their favorite if they run across this.

Wood boat people may have some good tips.

There are any number of spar varnishes with good UV protection, used on wooden boats when I had some. However, applying same will degrade the historical value of what is there now. My suggestion is to make up your own "polish" consisting of half spirits of gum turpentine, half boiled linseed oil. Rub on let sit a while rub off. If you want a glossier finish add some shaved bees wax to the polish mix, stir until dissolved. The bees wax will then require buffing after you have removed the excess polish. This mixture feeds the wood as well as the external finish, should prevent cracking of wood, crazing of the finish. Used on my antique furniture to keep it as original as possible.

Just use any regular furniture wax, should work fine.
It was probably waxed in the past so refinishing with some other product might give problems.
Wax will work fine on anything without reacting with the finish that is on there now.
Be aware that if you want to refinish with something you may have to sand it first and the veneer used on British cars is litteraly paperthin !
Great car by the way !

Great find Kevin,

Probably just use furniture polish. I assume she will remain garaged and not be left outside, so the exposure would be limited.

Great ideas & feedback guys.
It wont be veneer I think it is solid wood and yes it wont be left outside except when being used.

Thanks for your time
