A friend of mine was told he had about a year to live a couple weeks ago because of a spot on his liver.
I told him then that the doctors only PRACTICE medicine and don't know much more about when you will die than you do.
It seems this lady learned that to.

I had an uncle who, when he was 11 years old he cut his knee while ice skating. It got gangrine. At that time, around 1890 they didn't have antibiotics. The doctor said he had to cut my uncle's leg off or he would die. My uncle said, "I'll die with my leg on. And he did at the age of 70. The leg healed but the leg was shorter, and he could walk without a crutch.

Thank you for bringing this incredible journey to our attention. Sadly the book is now out of print. I tried libraries in the Seattle area to no avail. I have entered a search online to purchase a copy. Not sure how long it will take but I'm convinced it will be worth the effort.

FOUND!!!!!!! Seattle library sent me an email they found their only copy. Seems it was out on loan. They informed me I have been added to the list, I'm number 3 and waiting.

I finally got my copy of Jackass Annie from the library. My significant other, and I are taking turns reading the pages to each other in the evenings. The story is well written and very descriptive. She delves into her life before deciding to make the trip. I will not let anymore cats out of the bag. I will suggest you get a copy and plan on reading it in the evenings. It is so well written you feel you are riding alongside Annie and her animals.

We just finished the book. The grit this woman had to even think about a trip like that. The trials and tribulations of her trip are well worth reading. It could not be accomplished today people are to scared to meet, greet or help a stranger.

We could hardly put the book down page by page her travels were difficult but she pushed on.
