Smoked out

Post by Bryant » Thu Jun 08, 2023 7:19 am

We are getting smoked out over here! Canadian wildfires coming down the east coast. Yesterday was very hazy. Today is the same but I can actually smell it. Hope everyone is ok up north.

Here, The tax payers are continuously robbed to get zero emissions to make up for the rest of the world.
Canada just negated the billions of dollars we wasted. :x :x :x

We had conditions like that in Texas in the mid-1990s. It was smoke from "agricultural burning" being conducted in Mexico, central, and South America.

Yesterday I was watching the tv news while eating breakfast and we had a code red air quality day. Then I drive by a huge plot of land being clean striped by some new york investor for 140 houses, what are they doing? Burning all the brush, that included the remains of a magnolia farm that was several acres.yep, magnolias with 22 inch trunks. smoke and stink everywhere for miles.

John,
I don't know if you were in the Los Angeles area in the 1950's? In those days it was like peeling onions in a smoke filled room. The emission controls have greatly improved things. However, the air pollution people always need to keep doing more so they won't lose their jobs done when they reach their goal. So Now it is other things they are looking for. But one brush fire or one large volcanic eruption can cause more pollution than anything man made.
Last few years the smoke was on the west coast or the Rockies. This year it is in Canada.

We had some smoke a few weeks ago but not as bad as it is in the East now. I breathe worse after a day of mowing outside than working indoors. Summer is too short to spend inside though. We usually get Montana and Northern Idaho smoke later in the season.
Take care.

This smoke is a yearly thing in the west. No one cares until the
eastern states get it.

Burger

you are so right. Nothing west of the Mississippi matters back east unless it happens in California. And if it happens in California, we out West don't care so long as it STAYS in California.

A couple of years ago we had smoke and ash falling from Australia, way over the ocean from us. It was funny watching bits of leaf and fern drifting down after such a long journey.

I guess this has been happening since history started, add in volcanos and the proven greatest 'green house gas' (cloud cover) and we are all doomed! - The worry is that kids are being brainwashed to believe it....

Has anyone heard of the year "1800 and froze to death?" Happened in 1883. My grandparents were alive then and lived in New York State. There was a volcano in the south pacific which exploded and blew up the island of Krakatoa. There was so much smoke and ash in the atmosphere, that it snowed in July in the northeastern states! That's half way around the world from New York.

I read somewhere that folks up north are having to change out cabin air filters in cars, cpap filters and stuff alot more often now because of the smoke.
