My EMAIL Address. Just bought one of those bronze front wishbone clamp that enables an under-axle wishbone to augment the early and dangerous above axle wishbone. Cost $105 ! But tbay said my email is obligatory. Why ? So they can sell it or send me unwanted ‘specials’?

We want....INFORMATION.

They want an address so give them one, just not the one that you use for your life, just one set up solely to give them what they want....

I ask my son to buy ebay items I need.

I also have a gmail account. I consider it the equivalent of a spare tire in the trunk. I only use it when I need it, but it's good to know that I have it.

I signed up for a gmail account free. I never use it except for the required email address such as Fleabay ad a lot of others. Once a month I empty the garbage and start over. went on a cruise a couple of weeks ago and even though they told me there would be no solicitations I have already received 12 emails from them. Thats why I use my gmail account.

Interesting - In order for you to buy something on eBay you needed to setup an account using an eMail address an additional password. Why? because you may be a scammer.
Not sure when you needed to provide it. But in order to buy it you needed to use some payment method and provide an address to ship it to. Obviously that's necessary.
They do send shipping status updates to the email address.
If your a seller you need to provide a TAX ID (or Social Security #) once you exceed $600 in sales (Biden's new tax law-suspended by the IRS until next year). Used to be $20,000)

No ebay for me.
