I have no connection other than knowing a great deal when I see it...if you are looking for a very high quality general tap/die set in smaller sizes, you can't beat this American made set made by a legendary company. Appears to have had very little use:

Scott,
Last month at an antique store in southern Missouri, I spotted this well-loved tap and die set. I only said one word to my wife,
"Forthirtybucksit'sgoinghomewithme."

I've got one of those too. Great find, I use mine about twice a month. be sure to be generous with the thread cutting oil!

Seems the listing is Gone.
So I guess it would be ok to tell us about what it was as far as brand and sizes?

The listing is still up. It's a modern version of the Little Giant set that I posted.

Mark
that is a really nice set, isn't it?
I have the same exact one which is labled "Special"...it's interesting that yours has a PN associated with it and mine does not. I think it is unusual in that each tap size came with 3 taps not just 1, as is normal. I cannot find any evidence of use on mine (prior to my use) and was thrilled to get it. The old sets often have the very rare/obsolete threads which are sometimes found on old devices.
In case you were wondering (maybe you weren't) that odd-shaped slot in yours is where the die-plate spanner fits which unscrews the die-plate to either adjust or sharpen, or replace the cutting die(s)

Strangly I was at a salvage store-junkyard yesterday and shuffled thru about 5 barrels of hand tools. And found 1 of these is not perfect looking shape but works like a champ! Got it and a bunch of US made wrenches and a oscillating table sander for 20 bucks!

1 of the wrenches was a Mac 3/4!
