What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
I always used to check (and sometimes contribute to) "the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread. Suddenly it was gone and I can't even find old ones.

Yes, Dick, where is it? That thread is the reason that I click on the off topic board.
The last time FreighTer Jim posted on this forum was in May. Maybe he or someone else requested that the thread is removed?

I thought perhaps it had sunk out of sight for lack of a refresh, but you're right. It seems to have disappeared. In the spirit of that thread (which I much enjoyed) I'll post this -? Maybe it's not funny ?

Re: What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
It was one of the longest-lived threads on the forum, and I can't understand why the whole thread would disappear because of one or even a few posts. Oh, well.....

Perhaps a bot was offended by it?
AI couldn't take a joke?
It is kinda odd that it went poof.

Hi Mack,
I have the vague suspicion that there was someone here with "an axe to grind" regarding FJ and wanted him removed.
Now, having stated that, perhaps I, too, will be "disappeared" much like people in Mr. Putin's country.

Re: What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
No telling.I joined a website called Next door a while back. Helps find lost dogs and get rid of that extra lawn chair type thing.Sometimes interesting conversations come up about zoning changes and what not,and God Forbid any facts come up or anything disagreeing with 180 houses going in on 57 acres with no infrastructure in place to handle the burden. That thread disappears like a bovine flatulence in a spring breeze.People wear their "feelings' on their shirt sleeves nowadays

Re: What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
It would be nice if our mods or the board of directors would let us know what we did wrong.
Not sure if I care to know who pushed it over the limit but the whole thread deleted not the offending post/posts?
I know the board of directors also watch and have final say if a question arises and they've X'd a thread before IF I remember correctly.
Perhaps this week we'll get an answer.
Like my hat says this is THE Forum. A good place to be.

Re: What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
For whatever it is worth? Yesterday I noticed a fresh posting from Freighter Jim on the AACA forums. So it appears that at least he is okay. It was in a thread subsection that I generally do not take the time to read, so I didn't read it. But there was his pseudonym.
It bothers me to wonder why he would be gone from here?
I know that a few people on this site did have issues with FJ. However, the about a half dozen people I personally know that have used his services? I have not yet heard a bad word about FJ. He often made valuable contributions to this forum.

I also don't undertand the FJ bashing or negativity. He delivered my 11 from California on time, at the price he quoted. What else was I to expect? Art

Seem that some on the forum live by the axiom of:
"If I can not control myself, then I will control those around me."
"If I can not control myself, then I will control those around me."
Everything works in theory.
Reality is how you determine if something works or not.

I have sent a P.M. to Admin Jeff and will update you with any relevant information regarding the missing thread that we all enjoy!

Re: What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
Freighter Jim is no longer a member of the form and will not be coming back. So I guess we can assume that topics he made are not coming back either.
There was no reason given to why freighter Jim is not coming back nor to the reason why the topic was deleted. I am not going to press the issue further because frankly it's none of my business I just wanted to let you know what I found out.

It's pretty easy to stay on the Forum
It's not complicated...Here's how you do it: https://www.mtfca.com/phpBB3/forumrules.html

Re: What happened to the "Humor to Brighten Your Day" thread?
Thank you for asking Austin.
G. R., you're correct! Apparently only the offensive one tho. We helped or did we?
Fine. We won't know.
